Description

Maximum Growth for Serious Deck Gardens.

For the enthusiastic gardener with a deck full of life, hand watering is more than a chore—it's a limitation. The Medium Deck Garden Irrigation Kit is the robust, high-capacity solution designed to automatically water up to 180 pots with precision and ease. This comprehensive package upgrades your patio with professional-grade components, including 300 feet of Soaker Dripline and 100 feet of Mainline Tubing, giving you the freedom to design a complex, thriving container garden.

This complete DIY system ensures every plant, from large planters to small herbs, receives the perfect amount of water. It utilizes a combination of 1/4" Soaker Dripline for saturation and 80 individual Pot Drippers for targeted watering. The "Easy Loc" fittings require no glue or clamps, making installation simple even for larger layouts. The discreet 1/4" micro tubing tucks easily out of sight, keeping the focus on your blooms, not the plumbing.

We have pre-calculated the hydraulic requirements so you don't have to; simply snap the parts together to create a balanced system. Given the size of this kit, we highly recommend adding a Brass Y-Splitter to your order. This allows you to keep your irrigation system connected and running automatically while leaving a designated outlet free for your garden hose.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

This system connects easily to any standard outdoor hose faucet.

Step 1: The Header (Faucet Assembly)
If you purchased the kit with a Timer, attach the Timer to the faucet first. Next, screw on the Filter, then the Pressure Regulator, and finally the Easy Loc Female Hose Start. This entire assembly is commonly referred to as the Header.

Step 2: Lay the Mainline
Run the 1/2" Mainline Tubing from the Header around the perimeter of your deck or patio. Use the Easy Loc Tee or Coupler to navigate corners or branch off to different sections. Close the end with a Figure 8 End or End Cap.

Step 3: Connect the Containers
Use the included Pocket Punch to punch a hole in the Mainline near each pot group. Insert a 1/4" Transfer Barb and attach the 1/4" Micro Tubing to run up to the pot or planter box.

Step 4: Choose Your Emitter
For large planters, connect the 1/4" Soaker Dripline to create a loop around the plant base. For smaller pots, use a Stake Emitter (Pot Dripper) for a direct single-point water source. Secure everything with the included Hold Down Stakes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this kit easy to install?
Yes! Despite its larger capacity, this kit uses the same simple "Easy Loc" and push-together fittings as our smaller kits. It requires no glue or special tools, just a little more time to lay out the additional tubing.

Can I use this for both pots and hanging baskets?
Absolutely. The 1/4" Micro Tubing is perfect for running up posts or walls to reach hanging baskets. You can use the Soaker Dripline for baskets and the Pot Drippers for standard containers on the same line.

How many pots can I actually water?
The kit comes with 80 individual Pot Drippers and enough Soaker Dripline for many more. The system capacity (flow rate) can support up to 180 pots if you purchase additional drippers or tubing.

Can I automate this system?
Yes. We highly recommend adding a battery-operated timer at the faucet. Because the timer adds weight to the faucet, we recommend using a high-pressure hose extension to relieve stress on the spigot.

Is it expandable?
While this kit is designed as a complete system for up to 180 pots, you can customize the layout significantly. However, for systems that exceed 180 pots, we generally recommend stepping up to our Large Kit or planning for a larger flow rate capacity.

"Worth every penny"

"I have a massive wrap-around porch with about 60 pots. Hand watering took an hour every day. This kit had plenty of tubing to reach everything. The pressure regulator keeps the flow perfect even at the end of the line."

"Great value for the size"

"I was going to buy the small kit but realized I needed more drippers. This medium kit comes with a TON of fittings and the larger rolls of tubing. I actually had some leftover for next year."

"Easy expansion"

"Started with this kit for my back deck and later extended the mainline to my front porch. The system pressure handled the extra distance with no problem. DripWorks stuff is solid."

✔ Compatibility Check

Before you buy, check your setup:

  • Water Source: Must be a standard outdoor hose faucet (Garden Hose Thread).
  • Pressure: Requires at least 15 PSI to operate effectively.
  • Capacity: Designed for medium decks (approx. 180 pots). For smaller areas, consider our Small kit.

Complete Your System

Enhance your system with these recommended components:

  • Coupler with Valve: Allows you to turn off water to specific sections of the deck without shutting down the whole system.
  • End Caps: Provides a quick and easy way to flush or drain your mainline tubing at the end of the season.
  • Punch N Cut: An upgraded tool that makes punching holes and cutting tubing easier on your hands.
