If you can connect a standard garden hose, you can easily install this kit. It comes complete with a premium 20-gallon SmartPot fabric planter, giving you the perfect foundational setup to grow a healthy, thriving plant right out of the box.
This fully automated DIY kit is powered by an included Irritec Zero Pressure Battery Timer, ensuring your plant is watered consistently, even if you are out of town or dealing with low-pressure water systems. Using our specialized 1/4" Soaker Dripline with 9-inch emitter spacing, the system delivers a precise, even amount of water directly to the root zone. Simply circle the dripline around your plant and watch it thrive with minimal effort.
Most home growers prefer to keep their main hose faucet available for other outdoor tasks. Because this kit will automate your watering on a schedule, we highly recommend adding a Brass Y-Splitter to your order. This pro tip allows you to run your automatic irrigation timer on one side while keeping a standard garden hose accessible on the other.
This system connects easily to any standard outdoor hose faucet or spigot.
Step 1: The Header (Faucet Assembly)
Start by threading the included Irritec Battery Timer directly onto your outdoor faucet. Next, screw the 30 PSI Pressure Regulator onto the timer, followed by the Hose x 1/4" Barb with Screen. This complete assembly is your "Header."
Step 2: Run the Mainline
Attach the 1/4" Micro Tubing by pushing it firmly over the barb on the Header assembly. Unroll the tubing and run it to your 20-Gallon SmartPot.
Step 3: Create the Watering Ring
Once you reach the SmartPot, use a 1/4" Transfer Barb or 1/4" Elbow to connect the 1/4" Soaker Dripline to your micro tubing. Circle the dripline around the base of your plant to create an even watering ring. Use a 1/4" Goof Plug to cap the end of the dripline.
Step 4: Secure the Line
Use the included 1/4" Hold Down Stakes to securely pin the dripline ring and the micro tubing into the soil, keeping it exactly where your plant needs it most.

Is this kit easy to install?
Absolutely. This is our most straightforward starter kit. It requires no glue, cutting tools, or complicated mainline assemblies. Just push the 1/4" tubing onto the barbs, circle your plant, and you're ready to water.
Does it run automatically?
Yes! This kit includes the Irritec Zero Pressure battery-operated timer, allowing you to set watering days and durations so your plant is cared for even when you aren't home.
What is a SmartPot?
The included 20-gallon SmartPot is a premium, heavy-duty fabric planter. Unlike hard plastic pots, fabric pots naturally "air prune" roots to prevent them from circling, which dramatically improves root health, water drainage, and oxygen aeration.
Will this work on a gravity-fed or rain barrel system?
Yes. The included Irritec Zero Pressure Timer and the 1/4" dripline can operate at pressures as low as 2 PSI, making it an excellent candidate for elevated rain barrels and low-pressure municipal systems.
Is it expandable?
This specific kit is optimized for a single, large 20-gallon container plant using 1/4" tubing directly from the faucet. Because 1/4" micro tubing has strict flow limits (max 30 GPH) and distance limits (max 30 feet of run), it is not recommended for major expansion. However, you can add 1 or 2 more small pots nearby by splitting the line with additional 1/4" tees.
