Description

Start Smart. Protect Your Precision Emitters.

The Hose x 1/4" Barb with screen is the ideal takeoff fitting for small-scale hanging baskets, patio containers, and misting systems. By converting a standard 3/4" garden hose thread (FHT) directly into a 1/4" barb, this adapter provides a seamless transition from your high-flow faucet to your delicate micro-irrigation lines. For even better protection on larger systems, we recommend installing a secondary irrigation filter at your main water source.

What sets this fitting apart is the integrated hose screen washer. This 50-mesh stainless steel screen acts as a primary defense, trapping sediment and particulates before they can enter and clog your micro-tubing or drip hose. It is one of the most cost-effective irrigation fittings for preventing emitter failure in systems that draw from residential spigots or outdoor hoses.

Why Choose the Hose x 1/4" Barb with Screen?
  • Two-in-One Design: Combines a hose thread adapter and a filtration screen into a single, compact unit, saving space at the spigot.
  • Clog Prevention: The pre-installed 50-mesh screen washer filters out fine debris, ensuring that your low-flow drippers and misters continue to function without interruption.
  • Direct Connection: Easily threads onto any 3/4" Male Hose Thread (MHT) source, including faucets, hose-end timers, and standard garden hoses.
  • UV Stabilized Construction: Molded from high-grade black polypropylene that resists cracking and degradation under constant sunlight.
  • Misting System Optimized: The perfect starting point for low-volume misting applications where water quality is critical for performance.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to ensure a leak-free and filtered connection.

Step 1: Check the Screen Washer
Verify that the 50-mesh screen washer is seated firmly and flat inside the female threads of the adapter. The screen should be clean and free of debris.

Step 2: Connect the Micro-Tubing
Push your 1/4" micro-tubing (vinyl or poly) over the barbed outlet. If the tubing is cold or difficult to slide on, dip the end in warm water for a few seconds to soften it first.

Step 3: Attach to the Faucet
Screw the adapter onto your faucet, garden hose, or timer. Since this fitting is like a hose cap and does not swivel, you must hand-tighten it firmly. hand-tighten only; do not use pliers, as they may crack the plastic body.

Step 4: Maintenance
Periodically unscrew the fitting to check the screen. If you notice a reduction in flow, rinse the screen washer to remove trapped sediment and re-install.

✔ Fitment Verification
