Description

Secure, Precise Watering for Landscapes and Containers

The Cobra Stake Drip Emitter provides a highly reliable, two-in-one solution for targeted irrigation. Combining a built-in turbulent flow emitter with a rugged 5-inch landscape spike, this unit secures itself firmly into the soil to deliver precise hydration directly to the root zone. It is widely used by professionals and home gardeners alike for watering small to medium-sized containers, balled root stock, and dense landscape beds.

Engineered for longevity and low maintenance, the Cobra Stake features a self-flushing design and a built-in filter on the inlet barb to resist clogging. To integrate this emitter into your system, simply connect it to your 1/2" Mainline Tubing using a length of 1/4" micro-tubing and a 1/4" transfer barb. This setup allows you to route water from a central line precisely to where your plants need it most.

Why Choose the Cobra Stake Emitter?
  • Integrated 5" Spike: Secures the emitter firmly in the soil, preventing it from shifting, popping out, or being displaced by animals or weather.
  • Clog-Resistant Design: The self-flushing turbulent flow path and built-in inlet filter significantly reduce the risk of clogs from debris.
  • Targeted Delivery: The one-directional flow path ensures water is delivered exactly at the base of the plant, minimizing evaporation and weed growth.
  • Durable Construction: UV-stabilized to withstand prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight without cracking or degrading.

How to Set Up: Installation Guide

Follow these steps to connect the Cobra Stake to your irrigation mainline.

Step 1: Prep the Mainline
Using a hole punch tool, create a small hole in your 1/2" or 3/4" polyethylene mainline tubing near the plant you wish to water.

Step 2: Insert the Transfer Barb
Press a 1/4" transfer barb firmly into the punched hole until it snaps securely into place.

Step 3: Connect the Micro-Tubing
Push one end of a length of 1/4" micro-tubing onto the exposed end of the transfer barb. Push the other end onto the inlet barb of the Cobra Stake.

Step 4: Stake the Emitter
Push the 5-inch Cobra Stake directly into the soil at the base of your plant, ensuring the colored water outlet side is facing the root zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Cobra Stake connect directly to the mainline tubing?
No, it does not. The Cobra Stake is designed to be placed at the base of the plant. You must use a 1/4" transfer barb and a piece of 1/4" micro-tubing to bridge the gap between the mainline and the stake.

How does the self-flushing feature work?
The internal turbulent flow path creates rapid water movement that prevents sediment from settling inside the emitter. Combined with the built-in inlet filter, it continuously flushes out micro-debris during operation to prevent clogs.

Can I use these emitters in high-pressure systems?
The Cobra Stake is designed to operate optimally between 10 and 50 PSI. For systems connected to municipal water supplies, we highly recommend using a pressure regulator to prevent blowouts and ensure consistent flow.

Which side of the stake does the water come out of?
The water emits from the colored side of the stake. This one-directional flow allows you to orient the stake precisely so the water drips directly toward the plant's root mass.

As mid-May temperatures rise, why is securing balled root stock and new transplants with a 5" spike so important?
New mid-spring transplants have shallow, vulnerable roots. The 5-inch Cobra Stake ensures the emitter stays locked exactly at the base of the plant, guaranteeing consistent hydration to combat transplant shock before extreme summer heat hits.

Loose emitters on the end of micro-tubing often shift as the tubing expands and contracts in the warming spring sun. The deep spike prevents the water source from moving away from a critical new root zone.

✔ Compatibility Check

To install the Cobra Stake, you will also need:
