Description

Heavy-Duty Durability. Precision Threaded.

The 3/4" Schedule 80 PVC Nipples and Risers are the professional choice for creating strong, rigid connections between threaded components in your system. Unlike standard white Schedule 40 PVC, these gray Schedule 80 fittings feature thicker walls to handle higher pressure ratings and physical stress. Always apply thread sealant tape to the male threads to ensure a water-tight seal.

Available in a variety of lengths—from "Close" (where threads meet) to extended risers—these nipples are essential irrigation fittings for building filter manifolds, connecting valves, or extending sprinkler heights. Their UV-resistant gray construction makes them suitable for both exposed outdoor installations and buried high-pressure mainlines.

Why Choose Schedule 80 PVC?
  • Superior Strength: Schedule 80 PVC has a thicker wall than Schedule 40, allowing it to withstand higher operating pressures and resist impact damage.
  • Universal Threads: Both ends feature 3/4" Male Pipe Threads (MPT), making them compatible with any standard 3/4" FPT valve, filter, or fitting.
  • Corrosion Resistant: Manufactured from high-quality PVC that resists rust, rot, and chemical degradation from fertilizers.
  • Versatile Application: Perfect for high-stress areas like pump discharges, valve manifolds, and main water supply lines.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Ensure a leak-free connection with proper technique.

Step 1: Clean Threads
Wipe both the male threads of the nipple and the female threads of the receiving fitting to remove dirt or debris.

Step 2: Apply Tape
Wrap Thread Sealant Tape clockwise around the male threads. Use 3-4 wraps for a secure seal.

Step 3: Hand Tighten
Screw the nipple into the fitting by hand until it is snug. Ensure it is not cross-threaded.

Step 4: Final Tightening
Use a strap wrench or pliers to give it a final 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the female fitting.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your connection types:

  • Ends: Both ends are 3/4" Male Pipe Thread (MPT).
  • Fits: 3/4" Female Pipe Thread (FPT) fittings, such as Tees, Elbows, or Ball Valves.
  • Interchangeable: Can be used with both Gray Schedule 80 and White Schedule 40 PVC fittings.
  • Note: Not for use with hose threads (GHT).
