The Schedule 40 PVC Threaded Elbow (FPT x FPT) is the reliable solution for creating a 90-degree turn between two male-threaded components. Featuring Female Pipe Threads (FPT) on both ends, this fitting is essential for constructing "swing joints" for sprinklers, connecting threaded risers, or assembling hard-plumbed manifolds. As one of our most versatile irrigation fittings, it allows for easy assembly and disassembly without the permanence of glued joints.
Molded from high-quality Schedule 40 PVC, this elbow provides a robust connection point that resists corrosion and chemical damage. It is frequently used in conjunction with PVC nipples to raise sprinkler heads to the proper height or to route water lines around obstacles.

Secure threaded connections without cracking the plastic.
Step 1: Clean Threads
Ensure the male threads of the connecting pipe/nipple and the female threads of the elbow are clean and free of dirt.
Step 2: Apply Tape
Wrap Thread Seal Tape clockwise around the male threads of the pipe or nipple (3-5 wraps is usually sufficient).
Step 3: Hand Tighten
Screw the elbow onto the male thread by hand until it is snug. Ensure it is not cross-threaded.
Step 4: Final Turn
Use a strap wrench or pliers to turn the fitting an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn to seal it. Caution: Do not overtighten, as this may crack the PVC.
