The Ultimate Adjustable Watering Solution for Growing Gardens

Need to add versatility to your spring garden's watering schedule while retaining all the precision benefits of a drip system? The DripWorks Adjustable Shrubblers offer a smart, adaptable way to hydrate plants of all sizes. By simply twisting the cap, you can adjust the water emission from a slow, steady drip all the way up to a 24-inch spray pattern—perfect for soaking in spring fertilizers and covering expanding root zones. Connect them directly into 1/2" mainline tubing or extend them using micro tubing to perfectly adapt to your ever-changing landscape.

Why Choose DripWorks Adjustable Shrubblers?
  • Fully Adjustable Flow: Dial the flow rate from 0 to 13 gallons per hour (GPH). Start with a tight drip for young seedlings and widen the spray radius up to 24 inches as the plant matures.
  • Individual Shut-Off: No need to remove the emitter if a pot is empty or a plant is harvested. Just twist the cap fully clockwise to shut off the water completely.
  • Multiple Connection Options: Choose between a 1/4" Barbed base for direct tubing insertion, a 10/32" Threaded base for risers, or a 5-inch Stake for secure positioning in soil.
  • Clever "Break-Off" Barb: Staked models (DSHS, DSHS180) come with a highly convenient 1/4" transfer barb physically attached to the stake. Just snap it off to connect your micro tubing to the mainline!
  • Two distinct Patterns: Available in a Full-Circle (8 streams) pattern for 360-degree coverage or a Half-Circle (5 streams) pattern to keep water off borders and pathways.

How to Install the Shrubbler on a Stake

Follow these steps to install the highly popular Staked Shrubbler models (DSHS & DSHS180).

Step 1: Prep the Mainline
Using a DripWorks punch tool, create a clean hole in your 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch poly mainline tubing near the plant you want to water.

Step 2: Snap Off the Barb
Locate the small 1/4-inch transfer barb physically molded onto the side of the Shrubbler's 5-inch stake. Snap it off to use as your mainline connector.

Step 3: Connect Micro Tubing
Push the transfer barb into the punched hole on your mainline. Attach one end of a piece of 1/4-inch micro tubing to that barb, and attach the other end to the inlet barb on the Shrubbler stake.

Step 4: Stake and Adjust
Push the stake securely into the soil. Turn on your irrigation system, and twist the Shrubbler's cap counter-clockwise to widen the streams or clockwise to reduce the flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the DripWorks Adjustable Shrubblers good for watering new spring vegetable plants?
Yes, they are perfect for spring vegetables. The adjustable cap allows you to start with a gentle drip for fragile seedlings and widen the spray to a 24-inch diameter as the plant's root zone expands.

This incredible versatility means you don't have to swap out emitters mid-season. One Shrubbler adapts to the plant's needs from early spring through the summer harvest.

How do I shut off an individual DripWorks Adjustable Shrubbler?
Just twist the cap completely clockwise until the water stops. This individual shutoff feature is incredibly handy if a plant is removed or a pot is empty, preventing water waste.

What is the difference between the full-circle and half-circle DripWorks Shrubbler?
The full-circle Shrubbler emits eight streams of water for 360-degree coverage. The half-circle Shrubbler emits five streams in a 180-degree pattern, which is ideal for placing along borders, walkways, or the edges of raised beds.

How do I connect the staked DripWorks Shrubbler to my mainline?
Break off the transfer barb attached directly to the Shrubbler's stake. Insert that barb into your punched mainline tubing, then use 1/4-inch micro tubing to bridge the connection to the Shrubbler's inlet.

✔ Compatibility Check

Please note the requirements for this unit:

  • Pressure Limitations: Shrubblers operate best at pressures up to 30 PSI. A pressure regulator is highly recommended. At higher pressures, the caps may blow off the emitters.
  • Tubing Needs: If purchasing a Staked model, you will need to purchase 1/4" Micro Tubing separately to make the connection from the mainline to the stake.

Complete Your System

Ensure your adaptable irrigation setup is fully equipped with these recommended products:

  • 1/2" Mainline Tubing: The reliable foundation for running water across your yard to your garden beds.
  • 1/4" Micro Tubing: Required to bridge the gap from your mainline to the staked Shrubbler models.
  • Key Punch Tool: An essential tool for creating clean insertion holes in your poly tubing for barbs and emitters.
  • Pressure Regulator: Protect your Shrubblers from blowing their caps by lowering your home water pressure to 30 PSI or below.
