The NDS Hydro-Pop™ Pop-Up Riser is a self-retracting irrigation riser that lifts a micro jet or micro spray emission device off the ground when your system is pressurized, then drops back down automatically when watering stops. Available in two sizes — the Large (SPOP / HYP 250) extending up to 9 in. and the Small (SPOPJR / HYPJ 250) extending up to 5 in. — it is ideal for on-grade irrigation of trees, shrubs, flower beds, groundcover, vegetable gardens, and container plants. Both sizes operate with water pressure as low as 15 PSI.
The riser features a 1/4 in. compression fit inlet that connects directly to standard 1/4 in. polyethylene micro tubing. A micro jet or micro spray head threads onto the top. Built from UV-inhibitor-treated polyethylene, it stands up to sun exposure season after season. The top of the riser must be installed 1 inch above soil level. It is especially well-suited for border strips, commercial landscaping, and any area where you want the benefits of overhead spray coverage without a visible stake sticking up when the system is off.

What size tubing does the Pop-Up Riser connect to?
The riser has a 1/4 in. compression fit inlet that connects to standard 1/4 in. polyethylene micro tubing.

Which size should I choose — Large or Small?
Choose the Large (SPOP) if you need the emitter to clear taller groundcover or dense foliage; it extends up to 9 in. when pressurized and stands 13.75 in. retracted. Choose the Small (SPOPJR) for lower-growing plants or tighter spaces; it extends up to 5 in. and stands 9.25 in. retracted.
Does the riser retract on its own?
Yes. The Hydro-Pop extends automatically when water pressure reaches at least 15 PSI and retracts immediately when the system shuts off — no manual adjustment needed.
