Description

High-Flow Rotary Nozzle for Large-Radius Lawn Coverage — Without the Waste.

The Hunter MP Rotator MP3000 (High Flow) is the largest standard nozzle in Hunter's acclaimed MP Rotator series, designed to deliver efficient, uniform water distribution across large turf areas with a throw radius of 22 to 30 feet and a consistent precipitation rate of approximately 0.4 inches per hour. Available in three arc configurations — 90°–210° (Blue), 210°–270° (Yellow), and 360° fixed (Gray) — the MP3000 retrofits directly onto standard spray bodies with a female thread inlet, making it one of the easiest upgrades you can make to an existing sprinkler system.

What makes the MP Rotator technology genuinely different from traditional spray nozzles is the way it delivers water. Instead of a wide, single-burst fan pattern, the MP3000 emits multiple, slow-moving streams that rotate outward across the coverage area. This dramatically reduces the application rate, which means water has time to soak into the soil rather than pooling, running off, or evaporating. The result is matched precipitation rates across all arc sizes — a critical advantage when you're mixing 90°, 210°, and 360° heads on the same zone, because each head puts down water at the same rate regardless of arc, eliminating dry spots and overwatered areas.

The MP3000 is particularly well-suited to larger residential lawns, commercial turf, park strips, and any application where traditional high-precipitation spray nozzles are causing runoff on slopes or compacted soils. It operates best at 40 PSI, and radius can be reduced up to 25% by adjusting a set screw — no nozzle change required. A removable inlet filter protects the nozzle from debris and simplifies cleaning in the field. DripWorks ships one complimentary MP Rotator Adjustment Tool with every order of MP Rotator nozzles. This nozzle is also approved for rebates through select Bay Area water districts — see the compatibility note below for details.

Need coverage in smaller areas? The MP2000 covers 13–21 feet and the MP1000 covers 8–15 feet — all with the same matched precipitation rates for easy zone mixing. Or browse our full range of rotary nozzles and compatible spray bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between the MP3000-90, MP3000-210, and MP3000-360?
All three are the same MP3000 nozzle body with the same radius (22'–30') and matched precipitation rate (~0.4 in/hr) — the only difference is the arc pattern. The MP3000-90 (Blue) is adjustable from 90° to 210°, the MP3000-210 (Yellow) is adjustable from 210° to 270°, and the MP3000-360 (Gray) is a fixed full-circle pattern. Choose based on the shape of the area you need to irrigate. Select your configuration at the top of this product page.

How does the MP Rotator differ from a standard spray nozzle?
Traditional spray nozzles deliver a high-volume burst of water over the entire coverage area at once, often applying water faster than the soil can absorb it — leading to runoff and waste. The MP Rotator emits slow-moving, multi-stream arcs that rotate through the coverage zone at a very low application rate (approximately 0.4 in/hr). This gives the soil time to absorb moisture before more water arrives, dramatically reducing runoff and erosion, especially on slopes and compacted soils.

Can I mix MP3000 nozzles with MP1000 or MP2000 nozzles on the same zone?
Yes — this is one of the key advantages of the MP Rotator system. All MP Rotator nozzles share the same matched precipitation rate of approximately 0.4 in/hr regardless of arc size. This means you can mix MP1000, MP2000, and MP3000 nozzles on the same zone without creating dry spots or wet spots from uneven application rates — as long as your system pressure is within the 25–55 PSI operating range.

What spray body does the MP3000 fit?
The MP3000 has a female thread inlet and installs on any standard spray body with a matching male thread, including Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, and most other common spray body brands. DripWorks carries a full selection of compatible spray bodies if you need them.

How do I adjust the arc and radius?
Arc is adjusted using the MP Rotator Adjustment Tool (one complimentary tool is included with every DripWorks order of MP Rotators). The radius can be reduced up to 25% from maximum by turning the set screw at the top of the nozzle — no nozzle swap is needed, and the precipitation rate remains matched. Note: the 360° model has a fixed arc and cannot be adjusted for pattern.

What pressure is recommended, and what happens outside that range?
The MP3000 is optimized at 40 PSI and operates within a range of 25–55 PSI. Below 25 PSI, stream formation and rotation can be inconsistent. If you want to achieve the full 25% radius reduction, you'll need at least 40 PSI. If your system pressure exceeds 55 PSI, consider installing a pressure regulator to protect the nozzle and maintain uniform coverage.

Is this product eligible for a water rebate?
The MP3000 qualifies for rebates through certain Bay Area water districts. Visit bawsca.dropletportal.com to check if your local water district is participating.

How do I clean the MP3000 if it clogs?
The MP3000 includes a removable inlet filter that catches debris before it can enter the nozzle. Simply unscrew the nozzle from the spray body, pull out the filter, rinse it clean, and reinstall. No special tools are required.

✔ Compatibility Check

Before you install, verify the following:

  • Arc Selection: Choose the correct configuration before ordering — Blue (90°–210°) for corners and partial areas, Yellow (210°–270°) for wide partial arcs, Gray (360°) for full-circle open areas. The 360° model cannot be arc-adjusted.
  • Spray Body Thread: The MP3000 uses a female thread inlet. Confirm your spray body has a compatible male thread. Most standard spray bodies from major brands are compatible.
  • Water Pressure: Optimal performance at 40 PSI. Operating range is 25–55 PSI. Use a pressure regulator if your static pressure exceeds 55 PSI.
  • Coverage Radius: The MP3000 throws 22'–30'. Space heads at or below the maximum radius for proper head-to-head coverage. Radius can be reduced up to 25% via the set screw at 40 PSI minimum.
  • Zone Mixing: MP3000 nozzles can be mixed with MP1000 and MP2000 nozzles on the same zone thanks to matched precipitation rates.
  • Water Rebates: Eligible for rebates through select Bay Area water districts. Check eligibility here.

Complete Your Irrigation System

Pair your MP3000 nozzles with these components for a fully functional, water-efficient system:

  • Spray Bodies: Pop-up spray bodies to mount your MP3000 nozzles flush with or above the turf.
  • MP Rotator Adjustment Tool: Required for arc adjustment. One complimentary tool is automatically added to your cart with every MP Rotator order from DripWorks.
  • Irrigation Timers & Controllers: Automate your watering schedule with battery-operated or AC-powered controllers. Compatible with any standard solenoid valve system.
  • Irrigation Valves: Zone control valves to manage each MP Rotator circuit independently from your controller.
  • Pressure Regulators: Protect your nozzles and maintain consistent performance if your supply pressure exceeds 55 PSI.
  • Funny Pipe & Swing Joints: Flexible connections that allow spray bodies to flex under foot traffic or mowing without cracking lateral pipe.
