The Goof Plug for .400 Grommet is a heavy-duty repair fitting designed specifically for PVC irrigation manifolds. If you have removed a Top Hat Grommet to change your zone layout, or if you accidentally drilled a hole in the wrong location on your PVC supply line, this plug provides a permanent, watertight seal.
Unlike standard goof plugs used for small drip tubing, this large-diameter plug is engineered to fill the roughly 5/8" (16mm) holes typically drilled for "400 series" grommets. It is one of the most specialized irrigation fittings we offer, ensuring that a simple layout change doesn't require replacing an entire section of PVC pipe.

Step 1: Remove Old Components
If a Top Hat Grommet is currently in the hole, remove it completely. This plug is designed to fit directly into the PVC pipe wall, not inside the grommet.
Step 2: Check the Hole
Ensure the hole is clean and free of large burrs. This plug is designed for holes approximately 5/8" (16mm) in diameter.
Step 3: Insert the Plug
Push the plug firmly into the hole. You may need to use a rubber mallet to gently tap it flush if the fit is tight.
