Description

Smart, Wireless Watering. Professional Grade Control.

The Galcon 6151BT Bluetooth Controller with 1" Valve is an advanced, battery operated sprinkler valve designed for professionals and homeowners alike. By providing wireless watering timer capabilities directly to your smartphone, this controller removes the need to physically open the valve box for programming. To ensure long-lasting performance and protect the internal diaphragm, we highly recommend installing a high-quality water filter upstream. This smart irrigation controller seamlessly connects to your main line using standard irrigation fittings, giving you reliable, automated command over your landscape's hydration.

Engineered with a rugged IP68 waterproof rating, the 6151BT is perfectly safe to install below ground or in harsh, wet environments without fear of water damage. The intuitive Galcon BT app lets you manage watering schedules, set cyclic or weekly routines, and adjust run times from 1 minute up to 12 hours—all from up to 30 feet away. The included 1-inch inline globe valve features reliable operation suitable for a wide range of flow rates, making it ideal for remote drip systems, raised beds, or traditional sprinkler zones where running AC power is impossible.

Why Choose the Galcon 6151BT Controller?
  • Bluetooth Convenience: Program and manage your irrigation schedules via the free Galcon BT app (available for iOS and Android) without ever reaching into a muddy valve box.
  • 100% Waterproof (IP68): The controller module is fully sealed and potted, allowing for safe installation in subterranean valve boxes that are prone to flooding.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Offers weekly programming (select specific days) or cyclical programming (every X days), with run times ranging from 1 minute to 12 hours.
  • Battery Operated: Runs reliably for a full season on a single 9V alkaline battery, making it the perfect solution for off-grid gardens, greenhouses, and remote landscaped areas.
  • Manual Operation: Features a manual override button directly on the controller, as well as manual activation via the smartphone app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this controller with a 24V AC irrigation system?
No, the Galcon 6151BT is strictly a DC battery-operated controller. It is not compatible with standard 24V AC hardwired sprinkler systems or plug-in AC transformers used in traditional residential irrigation.

If you are replacing a valve on an existing hardwired system, you will need a standard 24V AC valve instead of a battery-operated one.

Does this valve need to be installed above ground?
No, it is perfectly safe to install below ground. The 6151BT controller and valve feature an IP68 waterproof rating, meaning they are fully submersible and protected inside underground irrigation valve boxes.

Even though it is waterproof, placing it inside a valve box is still highly recommended to protect the unit from heavy soil compaction and landscaping equipment.

How long does the battery last?
A high-quality 9-volt alkaline battery will typically last for an entire watering season under normal use. We highly recommend replacing the battery annually at the start of spring to guarantee reliable operation.

The Galcon BT smartphone app will also provide a low battery indicator to warn you when it's time for a replacement.

What size pipe connects to this valve?
The included globe valve features 1-inch Female Pipe Thread (FPT) connections on both the inlet and outlet. You will need to use 1-inch Male Pipe Thread (MPT) adapters to connect to your PVC or poly tubing.

Always remember to use thread seal tape on the MPT adapters before threading them into the valve to prevent small leaks.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify this controller matches your system requirements:

  • Thread Type: Inlet and outlet are 1" Female Pipe Thread (FPT). You will need MPT adapters to connect to PVC or Poly tubing.
  • Power Requirements: Operates strictly on 9V DC battery power. This is NOT compatible with 24V AC hardwired irrigation controllers.
  • System Pressure: Requires a minimum of 15 PSI to fully open and close the internal diaphragm. Do not install on zero-pressure gravity-fed systems.
