Unscrew the battery compartment on the controller head, insert a fresh 9V alkaline battery, and firmly re-tighten the cap to ensure the waterproof seal is maintained.
Step 2: Connect to Mainline
Using thread seal tape, thread 1" Male Pipe Thread (MPT) PVC or poly adapters into both the inlet and outlet of the valve. Pay close attention to the flow direction arrow molded into the valve body.

Download the Galcon BT app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth, open the app, and follow the on-screen prompts to pair with your controller.

Can I use this controller with a 24V AC irrigation system?
No, the Galcon 6151BT is strictly a DC battery-operated controller. It is not compatible with standard 24V AC hardwired sprinkler systems or plug-in AC transformers used in traditional residential irrigation.
If you are replacing a valve on an existing hardwired system, you will need a standard 24V AC valve instead of a battery-operated one.
Does this valve need to be installed above ground?
No, it is perfectly safe to install below ground. The 6151BT controller and valve feature an IP68 waterproof rating, meaning they are fully submersible and protected inside underground irrigation valve boxes.
Even though it is waterproof, placing it inside a valve box is still highly recommended to protect the unit from heavy soil compaction and landscaping equipment.
How long does the battery last?
A high-quality 9-volt alkaline battery will typically last for an entire watering season under normal use. We highly recommend replacing the battery annually at the start of spring to guarantee reliable operation.
The Galcon BT smartphone app will also provide a low battery indicator to warn you when it's time for a replacement.
What size pipe connects to this valve?
The included globe valve features 1-inch Female Pipe Thread (FPT) connections on both the inlet and outlet. You will need to use 1-inch Male Pipe Thread (MPT) adapters to connect to your PVC or poly tubing.
