Description

Split Your Line. Maximize Coverage.

The 1/2" Compression Tee is the standard "T" shaped connector for branching your drip irrigation system. Designed to join three pieces of 1/2" poly tubing, this fitting allows you to run water in two opposite directions from a single supply line or create a new branch off your main header.

As one of our most widely used irrigation fittings, the compression tee relies on a secure friction-fit design. An internal ring grips the tubing tightly once inserted, creating a permanent, leak-proof seal without the need for messy glues or clamps. It is the economical choice for splitting lines in vegetable gardens, landscape beds, and perimeter watering systems.

Why Choose Compression Fittings?
  • 3-Way Connection: Perfect for creating grid layouts or branching off to a new garden bed without running a separate supply line from the faucet.
  • High Security: The internal compression ring bonds to the tubing, making it extremely resistant to pull-out or blow-off, even under pressure surges.
  • Low Profile: The simple black design blends seamlessly with the tubing and soil, keeping your garden looking professional and uncluttered.
  • Cost Effective: Compression fittings provide a permanent connection at a lower cost than reusable lock-nut fittings, making them ideal for large installations.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Install your tees securely using the "Rock and Push" method.

Step 1: Cut the Tubing
Cut your 1/2" poly mainline where you want to create the branch. Ensure the cut is square and clean.

Step 2: Warm the Ends (Optional)
Compression fittings are tight by design. If the tubing is stiff, dip the end in warm water or leave it in the sun for a few minutes to soften it.

Step 3: Push and Rock
Insert the tubing end into the fitting. Push firmly while "rocking" the tubing back and forth (up and down) to work it past the internal compression ring. It should go in about 1/2" to 3/4" deep.

Step 4: Connect All Sides
Repeat the process for all three ports of the tee to complete your junction.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this fits your tubing:

  • Fits: Standard 1/2" Poly Tubing with an Outside Diameter (OD) of .700". (Includes most DripWorks mainline).
  • Does NOT Fit: Raindrip brand tubing (.620" OD), 1/2" Drip Tape, or PVC Pipe.
  • Note: Compression connections are permanent. Tubing cannot be removed without cutting. For reusable options, use "Easy Loc" fittings.

Complete Your System

Finish your layout with these recommended components:

  • 1/2" Poly Tubing: The standard distribution tubing compatible with this tee.
  • Wire Hold Downs: Secure the tubing at the "T" junction to prevent it from lifting or shifting.
  • Goof Plugs: Essential for plugging unwanted holes in your line.
  • Figure 8 End: The simplest way to close off the ends of your new branch lines.
