Description

Extend Your Line. Seamless Repairs.

The 1/2" Compression Coupler is the essential utility player in your drip system toolkit. Designed to join two pieces of 1/2" poly tubing in a straight line, it is perfect for extending a run to reach new plants or quickly repairing a cut in your mainline.

Like other reliable irrigation fittings in the compression series, this coupler uses a secure friction-fit design. The internal metal ring grips the tubing tightly once inserted, creating a permanent, watertight seal without the need for glues or clamps. It is a cost-effective solution for permanent installations where a low-profile connection is desired.

Why Choose Compression Fittings?
  • Instant Repairs: If you accidentally cut your line with a shovel or garden shear, simply cut out the damaged section and bridge the gap with this coupler.
  • High Security: The internal compression ring creates a bond that resists pull-out, making it safer for systems that are buried or hidden under mulch.
  • Low Profile: The sleek black design minimizes visual clutter in the landscape compared to bulkier screw-cap fittings.
  • Cost Effective: Provides a professional-grade connection at a fraction of the cost of reusable lock-nut fittings.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Install your coupler securely with the "Rock and Push" method.

Step 1: Prepare the Tubing
Cut your 1/2" poly tubing cleanly and squarely. If repairing a line, cut out the damaged section entirely.

Step 2: Warm the Ends (Recommended)
Compression fittings are designed to be tight. To make installation easier, dip the end of the tubing in warm water or let it sit in the sun to soften the plastic.

Step 3: Push and Rock
Insert one end of the tubing into the coupler. Push firmly while "rocking" the tubing back and forth (up and down) to work it past the internal compression ring. It should insert about 1/2" to 3/4".

Step 4: Connect the Other Side
Repeat the process for the second piece of tubing to complete the connection.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this fits your system:

  • Fits: Standard 1/2" Poly Tubing with an Outside Diameter (OD) of .700". (Includes most DripWorks mainline).
  • Does NOT Fit: Raindrip brand tubing (.620" OD), 1/2" Drip Tape, or PVC Pipe.
  • Note: Once installed, the tubing is extremely difficult to remove. For reusable connections, consider "Easy Loc" fittings.

Complete Your System

Finish your layout with these recommended components:

  • 1/2" Poly Tubing: The standard distribution tubing compatible with this coupler.
  • Wire Hold Downs: Use these to secure the line on either side of the repair to prevent stress on the fitting.
  • Goof Plugs: Essential for plugging small holes if you don't need a full coupler repair.
  • Figure 8 End: The simplest way to close off the end of your poly tubing line.
