Description

Permanent Precision. Secure PVC to Tape Transitions.

The Tape Loc x PVC Adapter is the engineered solution for transitioning from your permanent PVC infrastructure directly to 5/8" drip tape rows. Designed to be solvent-welded (glued) directly into standard PVC fittings, this adapter creates a robust anchor point for your tape system, eliminating the potential leak points often found with threaded connections.

Featuring a high-quality positive locking nut, this fitting mechanically clamps the drip tape over the barb, preventing blowouts even when the tape softens in summer heat. It is one of our most professional irrigation fittings for greenhouse growers and commercial farmers who demand a clean, low-profile manifold setup.

Why Choose Tape Loc Technology?
  • Leak-Proof Lock: The locking nut screws over the drip tape, compressing it against the extended barb. This "annular compression" creates a seal superior to standard friction barbs.
  • Professional PVC Bond: The spigot end is designed to be glued into a PVC socket (like a Tee or Elbow), creating a permanent, watertight seal that won't wiggle loose.
  • Fully Reusable: While the PVC side is permanent, the Tape Loc side can be unlocked and removed in seconds. This is perfect for seasonal gardens where lines are moved or stored during winter.
  • Chemical Resistant: Molded from high-grade polypropylene with UV stabilizers, these fittings resist cracking from sun exposure and are chemically inert to standard fertilizers.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to ensure a leak-proof connection.

Step 1: Preparation (PVC Side)
Clean the PVC fitting socket (e.g., Tee or Elbow) and the adapter's spigot end. Apply PVC primer and glue to both surfaces.

Step 2: Connect to PVC
Insert the adapter into the PVC fitting and give it a quarter turn to ensure even glue distribution. Allow to cure fully before pressurizing.

Step 3: Prepare the Tape
Rotate the locking nut backwards (towards the PVC side) to expose the sharp barb. Slide your 5/8" drip tape over the barb until it hits the stop.

Step 4: Lock it Down
Twist the locking nut forward over the tape. Tighten firmly by hand to compress the tape against the barb.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify this fitting works for you:

  • PVC Connection: This is a Spigot. It fits INSIDE a PVC Socket (like a Tee, Elbow, or Coupling).
  • It does NOT fit directly over PVC pipe (unless you use a coupler).
  • Tape Connection: Fits Standard 5/8" Drip Tape (approx 16mm ID).
  • Glue Required: You must use PVC solvent cement for the PVC connection.

Complete Your System

Build a professional manifold with these essential components:

  • PVC Glue: Required to bond the adapter to your PVC fittings.
  • PVC Primer: Cleans and softens the plastic for a permanent weld.
  • PVC Tees: The perfect fitting to branch off your mainline to each tape row.
  • Tape Loc End Cap: Securely close off the end of your drip lines.
  • Drip Tape: High-quality tape for efficient row crop irrigation.
