Description

Seamlessly Transition from Mainline to Tape.

Connecting your supply header directly to a drip tape row has never been easier. The Tape Loc x 1/2" Easy Loc Coupler bridges the gap between two different types of tubing, allowing you to connect standard 1/2" polyethylene mainline directly to 5/8" drip tape.

This fitting features the best of both worlds: a Tape Loc nut to secure your thin-walled drip tape and an Easy Loc collar to grip your solid poly tubing. It creates a secure, leak-proof transition without the need for hose clamps or glue, making it one of our most popular irrigation fittings for vegetable farms and large garden rows.

Why Choose This Transition Fitting?
  • Dual Technology: Combines the specialized "annular compression" of Tape Loc (for tape) with the rugged grip of Easy Loc (for poly tubing) in one compact fitting.
  • Perfect for Header Rows: Ideal for connecting individual rows of drip tape to a 1/2" supply line running perpendicular to your beds.
  • Fully Reusable: Both sides of the fitting can be unlocked and removed in seconds. This is essential for seasonal farms where lines are pulled up and stored during winter.
  • Tool-Free Installation: No clamps, ratchets, or hot water required. The large, textured nuts are designed for easy hand-tightening on both ends.
  • UV & Chemical Resistant: Molded from high-grade polypropylene with UV stabilizers, these fittings resist cracking from sun exposure and are chemically inert to standard fertilizers.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

This fitting has two different locking mechanisms.

Step 1: Connect Poly Tubing (Easy Loc Side)
Rotate the locking collar on the Easy Loc side backwards to expose the barb. Push your 1/2" poly tubing over the barb. Twist the collar forward to lock it in place.

Step 2: Prepare Tape
Cut your drip tape squarely with scissors. Critical Tip: Inspect the cut end. If there is a hard plastic emitter inside the tape within the first inch, cut it off.

Step 3: Unlock (Tape Loc Side)
Rotate the locking nut on the tape side counter-clockwise (backwards) to expose the sharp tape barb.

Step 4: Connect Tape
Slide the drip tape over the barb until it hits the stop. Twist the locking nut clockwise (forward) to lock the tape securely.

Troubleshooting: If a leak appears on the tape side, ensure the tape is fully seated and not folded before retightening by hand.

✔ Compatibility Check

This fitting is for 5/8" Drip Tape and 1/2" Poly Tubing ONLY.

  • It will NOT fit 3/4" Poly Tubing (Mainline).
  • It will NOT fit 1/4" Micro Tubing.
  • If you need to connect two pieces of solid poly tubing, use Easy Loc fittings on both sides.
