Description

Repair and Control. Integrated Tape Management.

The Tape Coupler w/ Valve is a high-performance dual-purpose fitting designed to join two sections of 5/8" drip tape while adding independent flow control. Whether you are repairing a damaged line or need the ability to shut off specific rows during harvest or crop rotation, this valve-integrated coupler provides the ultimate flexibility for your irrigation system.

By utilizing the proven Tape Loc mechanical locking system, this fitting ensures a watertight, blowout-proof connection on both ends of the valve. It is a critical component among professional irrigation fittings for market gardens and row crop operations where precision water management and row-by-row isolation are essential for maximizing yields.

Why Choose Tape Loc Valve Technology?
  • Row-Level Isolation: The built-in red handle allows for a simple quarter-turn to shut off water to a specific line without affecting the rest of the zone.
  • Seamless Repair: Easily patch a cut or torn drip tape line while simultaneously adding a control point.
  • Tool-Free Locking: The locking nuts mechanically clamp the tape over the internal barbs, providing "annular compression" that holds firm even in extreme heat.
  • UV-Stabilized Durability: Molded from heavy-duty polypropylene with UV stabilizers, this valve is built to withstand direct sunlight and agricultural fertilizers.
  • Fully Reusable: The mechanical lock can be unscrewed and the fitting relocated as your garden layout changes throughout the season.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Repair and control your lines in minutes.

Step 1: Prep the Tape
Ensure the ends of your drip tape are cut squarely and are free of debris or grit. If repairing a tear, cut out the damaged section completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Fitting
Rotate the Tape Loc nuts backwards (towards the valve body) to expose the sharp tape barbs on both ends.

Step 3: Insert and Lock
Slide the tape over the first barb until it hits the plastic stop. Twist the locking nut forward (away from the valve) until hand-tight. Repeat the process for the second piece of tape on the opposite side.

Step 4: Test and Adjust
Turn on your water source. Use the red handle to verify flow (parallel to the valve for "ON," perpendicular for "OFF"). Check both locking nuts for leaks.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your components before installation:

  • Tape Size: Fits standard 5/8" (approx. 16mm ID) drip tape only.
  • Tubing Warning: Will NOT fit 1/2" poly distribution tubing (mainline) due to the greater wall thickness.
  • Pressure: Requires low-pressure regulation (10-15 PSI). Always use a pressure regulator.
  • Tape Brands: Compatible with T-Tape, Aqua-Traxx, and Chapin drip tape.

Complete Your System

Optimize your row crop management with these essential accessories:

  • Drip Tape: High-uniformity tape for efficient vegetable row irrigation.
  • Tape Loc End Cap: Securely close off your drip tape runs with easy-flush capability.
  • Pressure Regulator: Mandatory for keeping system pressure below 15 PSI to prevent tape bursts.
  • Irrigation Filter: Protect your valve and tape emitters from debris and sediment.
  • Hold Down Stakes: Secure your tape and valves at the start and end of rows to prevent shifting.
