Spring Garden: May Garden Checklist For Zones 4-5

Why sweat it out through the peak of summer? Even on the hottest, most sultry days, you can completely transform your outdoor spaces with the Superfine Misting Nozzles (5-Pack) from DripWorks. These high-performance fogging nozzles produce microscopic water droplets that flash-evaporate in the air, creating a refreshing curtain of cool air for you, your family, or even your livestock. Designed with a robust 1/8" Male Pipe Thread (MPT), they easily thread into adapted 1/2" PVC tees (like the MNTA model) to create highly durable, permanent overhead cooling grids. To prevent clogs and ensure a steady mist, we always recommend pairing these nozzles with a high-quality inline filter at your water source.
Use the chart below to select the right misting nozzle color for your specific cooling application.
| SKU | Color | Angle | Diameter* | Droplet (Microns) | GPH @ 40 PSI | GPH @ 80 PSI | GPH @ 100 PSI |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MNW | White | 80° | 2' | 55 | 0.6 | 0.7 | 0.9 |
| MNC | Cream | 105° | 3' | 60 | 1.1 | 1.4 | 1.6 |
| MNB | Black | 110° | 3' | 70 | 1.6 | 2.6 | 3.0 |
| Superfine nozzle with Anti-Drip (Does NOT use filter screen) | |||||||
| MNRED | Red | 110° | 2' | 50 | 0.6 | 0.7 | 0.9 |
Build your rigid overhead cooling system with these threaded nozzles.
Step 1: Prep Your Overhead PVC
Assemble your overhead PVC cooling line using specially adapted 1/2" PVC tees (like the MNTA or P1218STB) which feature a tapped 1/8" female pipe thread port.
Step 2: Insert the Filter Screen
If you are using the White, Cream, or Black nozzles, insert the included filter screen into the PVC adapter opening. Note: Skip this step entirely if you are using the Red (MNRED) Anti-Drip nozzle.
Step 3: Thread the Nozzle
Take the Superfine Misting Nozzle and firmly twist its 1/8" MPT base directly into your prepared PVC adapter tee until it is hand-tight and secure.
Step 4: Verify System Pressure
Turn on your water supply. Ensure your system pressure is regulated high enough—between 40 and 100 PSI—to properly atomize the water into a fine, evaporative mist.
Are the Superfine Misting Nozzles good for cooling patios this summer?
Yes, the Superfine Misting Nozzles are perfect for summer cooling. They produce a microscopic 55 to 70-micron droplet size that flash-evaporates, dropping ambient temperatures on patios and decks without leaving annoying puddles.
What thread size do the Superfine Misting Nozzles use?
These nozzles feature a 1/8" MPT (Male Pipe Thread) base. Because of this specific threading, they must be screwed into specialized PVC adapter tees rather than pushed directly into flexible poly tubing.
Does the Red Superfine Misting Nozzle need a filter screen?
No, the Red Superfine Misting Nozzle (MNRED) features an integrated anti-drip mechanism inside the base and does not use the included filter screens. However, a mainline filter at your water source is still required.
What water pressure is required for the Superfine Misting Nozzles?
To achieve a true fogging effect rather than a heavy sprinkle, the Superfine Misting Nozzles require higher pressure. They operate optimally between 40 PSI and 100 PSI.
Please note the strict installation requirements for these nozzles:
