Description

Navigate Tight Corners. Maintain Maximum Flow.

The PVC 90 Elbow (Slip x Slip) is the standard professional fitting for creating precise right-angle turns in your irrigation mainline. Designed with two female socket ends, this elbow allows you to route water around landscape obstacles, garden beds, or structures without kinking the line. When paired with PVC Tees, these elbows provide the geometric flexibility needed to build high-performance valve manifolds and distribution headers.

Molded from commercial-grade Schedule 40 PVC, these elbows offer superior flow characteristics compared to corrugated tubing or flexible pipe. They are essential for building stable valve manifolds, pump discharge lines, and header pipes that must remain rigid and leak-free for years of service.

Why Choose Dura Schedule 40 Elbows?
  • Smooth Radius: The internal "sweep" design minimizes friction loss and turbulence, ensuring that your downstream emitters receive the pressure they need.
  • Permanent Bonding: Solvent-weld connections create a chemical bond between the pipe and fitting that is rated for high-pressure irrigation and potable water systems.
  • UV Resistance: Formulated with stabilizers to prevent the PVC from becoming brittle when exposed to direct sunlight in above-ground installations.
  • Professional Sizing: Available in a full range of diameters to match everything from small residential zones to large-scale agricultural mainlines.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Proper solvent welding is critical for high-pressure corners.

Step 1: Prep
Ensure your PVC pipe is cut squarely. Use a deburring tool to smooth the edges. Clean the outside of the pipe and the inside of the elbow socket with a dry cloth.

Step 2: Prime
Apply PVC Primer to both the pipe end and the internal socket of the elbow. This softens the PVC to facilitate a deep weld.

Step 3: Glue
Apply a liberal coat of PVC Glue to the pipe and a thin layer to the fitting socket while the primer is still wet.

Step 4: Set
Push the pipe into the elbow socket until it hits the internal stop. Give it a quarter-turn twist to distribute the glue. Hold for 30 seconds to prevent the fitting from sliding off.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your pipe types:

  • Slip Ends: Fit OVER standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC Pipe.
  • It will NOT fit inside another fitting (it is not a Spigot/Street elbow).
  • It is NOT threaded. Glue is required for installation.
  • Match size exactly (e.g., a 1" Elbow fits 1" PVC pipe).

Complete Your System

Ensure you have all the necessary components for a professional installation:

  • PVC Primer: Essential for softening the plastic surfaces for a permanent bond.
  • PVC Glue: The solvent cement required to weld the fitting to the pipe.
  • PVC Pipe Cutters: Ensure square, clean cuts with our 1", 1-1/2", 2", or Fiskars cutters.
