Description

Mistake? No Problem. The Instant Fix.

The 1/4" One-Way Goof Plug is the simplest way to patch unwanted holes in your irrigation system. Unlike the dual-sided "rack" versions, this dedicated single-barb plug is designed to perform two specific tasks: sealing a hole in your poly mainline where a barb was removed, or acting as an end cap for a run of 1/4" micro tubing.

These compact irrigation fittings are indispensable for correcting installation errors or modifying a system layout. If you move a potted plant and need to remove its feeder line, simply snap this plug into the leftover hole to seal the system and maintain proper water pressure.

Why Choose One-Way Plugs?
  • Low Profile: The single-head design sits flush against the mainline for a cleaner, less obtrusive look than two-way plugs.
  • Dual Function: Plugs 1/4" punched holes in mainlines OR plugs the end of 1/4" spaghetti tubing.
  • Secure Seal: Features a sharp barb that snaps tightly into place to prevent leaks under pressure.
  • System Flexibility: Allows you to move emitters and change your garden layout without having to replace the entire supply line.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Quickly fix leaks or mistakes:

Scenario A: Plugging a Hole
If you punched a hole in the wrong spot or removed a transfer barb, simply push the barbed end of the Goof Plug into the hole until it snaps flush. You may need to wiggle it slightly to seat it.

Scenario B: Capping a Line
To close off the end of a 1/4" micro tubing run (e.g., creating a dead end), insert the barb into the open end of the tubing just like a standard connector.

Tip:
For older, tougher mainline tubing, use a pair of pliers to help push the plug in, but be careful not to crush the plastic head.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify this plug is right for the job:

  • Hole Size: Designed for standard holes punched by 1/4" tools (approx 3mm-4mm).
  • Tubing Size: Fits 1/4" Vinyl or Polyethylene Micro Tubing (.170" ID).
  • Limitation: Cannot repair large tears or "blown out" holes. For large damage, cut the line and use a coupler.

Complete Your System

Stock up on these essential repair and install parts:

  • Punch Tool: The tool that makes the holes these plugs are designed to fill.
  • 1/4" Micro Tubing: The tubing this plug can cap off.
  • Barbed Tees: Branch your lines effectively before you need to plug them!
  • Drippers: If you aren't plugging the hole, you should be installing one of these.
