Description

Instant Spigot Connection. Leak-Free Swivel Precision.

The Tape Loc x Female Hose Swivel (FHS) is the essential adapter for connecting your drip tape rows directly to a standard outdoor spigot or garden hose. Featuring a 3/4" Female Hose Thread (FHT) swivel, this fitting allows you to attach your tape without twisting the entire line, ensuring a clean, stress-free installation. It is the ideal starting point for raised beds, garden plots, and small-scale farms using agricultural-grade drip tape.

Designed for durability and ease of use, the swivel connection includes a rubber washer to create a watertight seal against any male hose thread outlet. As one of our most popular irrigation fittings for residential and light commercial use, it provides a professional-grade transition from high-pressure home water sources to the low-pressure requirements of drip tape systems.

Why Choose Tape Loc Technology?
  • Free-Spinning Swivel: The swivel nut allows you to screw the fitting onto a spigot or hose-end timer while the rest of the fitting stays stationary, preventing the drip tape from tangling or kinking during setup.
  • Mechanical Locking Grip: The Tape Loc nut compresses the tape over a long-tapered barb, creating a "lock-down" seal that holds firm even as water temperature changes cause the tape to soften.
  • Tool-Free Operation: Ergonomic, textured nuts allow for a full hand-tightened installation. No wrenches, hose clamps, or messy glues are required.
  • UV-Stabilized Construction: Made from high-quality polypropylene with UV inhibitors, this adapter is built to survive the heat and sun exposure of an open garden environment.
  • Fully Reusable: The locking mechanism is easily reversible, allowing you to disassemble your system for winter storage and reuse the fitting next season.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Start your drip irrigation rows in four easy steps.

Step 1: Check the Washer
Ensure the black rubber hose washer is seated flat inside the 3/4" female swivel nut. This is critical for a leak-free connection.

Step 2: Connect to Source
Screw the swivel nut onto your garden hose, hose bib timer, or pressure regulator. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not use pliers, as this can damage the plastic threads.

Step 3: Prepare the Tape End
Rotate the Tape Loc nut backwards (towards the swivel end) to expose the sharp tape barb. Slide your 5/8" drip tape over the barb until it hits the plastic stop.

Step 4: Lock it Down
Twist the locking nut forward (clockwise) over the tape. Tighten firmly by hand to compress the tape against the barb and complete the seal.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your thread and tape sizes:

  • Thread Type: This is Female Hose Thread (FHT). It is compatible with standard garden hoses, spigots (hose bibs), and hose-end timers.
  • NOT Compatible with: Pipe Threads (NPT/FPT) found on PVC pipe or iron fittings.
  • Tape Type: Fits standard 5/8" Drip Tape (Aqua-Traxx, T-Tape, Chapin).
  • Pressure Warning: Drip tape systems require low pressure. This fitting should be used after a pressure regulator (10-15 PSI).

Complete Your System

Everything you need for a professional spigot-to-tape setup:

  • Pressure Regulators: Essential to prevent your drip tape from bursting due to high household water pressure.
  • Drip Tape: High-efficiency distribution lines for row crops and raised beds.
  • Irrigation Filters: Protect your tape emitters from fine particles and sediment.
  • Spare Hose Washers: Keep these on hand to ensure a leak-proof swivel seal year after year.
  • Hose Y-Valve: Split your spigot to run both a garden hose and your drip tape system simultaneously.
