Description

Threaded Transitions Made Simple. Fast & Glueless.

The PVC-Lock Male Adapter is the essential bridge between your rigid PVC piping and threaded irrigation components. Featuring a "push-to-connect" socket on one side and standard Male Pipe Threads (MPT) on the other, this adapter allows you to screw into a valve, filter, or sprinkler and immediately connect your pipe without glue. It is a critical irrigation fitting for building manifolds or connecting system headers, especially when you need to avoid the fumes of solvent welding in tight spaces.

Designed for durability and speed, this fitting utilizes Hydro-Rain's patented stainless steel retainer ring to grip the pipe and an EPDM O-ring for a leak-proof seal. Always remember to apply Thread Sealant Tape to the male threads before installation to ensuring a watertight connection with your threaded components.

Why Choose PVC-Lock Adapters?
  • Seamless Transition: The easiest way to convert from a threaded valve or regulator outlet directly to Schedule 40 PVC pipe.
  • Rotational Flexibility: Once the pipe is pushed in, the fitting can still rotate around the pipe (unlike glued fittings), allowing you to position the threaded end perfectly during assembly.
  • Instant Pressurization: No cure time required. Install your valve manifold and turn on the water immediately.
  • Chemical Free: Ideal for green-building projects or enclosed spaces where PVC primer fumes are a hazard.
  • Industrial Strength: The UV-resistant ABS body and stainless steel teeth are rated for mainlines up to 150 PSI.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow this sequence for a leak-free transition.

Step 1: Prepare Threads
Wrap the Male Pipe Threads (MPT) of the adapter with Thread Seal Tape (Teflon tape). Wrap 3-4 times in a clockwise direction.

Step 2: Tighten Adapter
Screw the adapter into your valve, filter, or fitting. Hand-tighten firmly. Do not use pipe wrenches, as excess torque can crack the plastic body.

Step 3: Prep Pipe
Cut your PVC pipe square. Clean off any debris or dirt. Chamfering the edge is recommended to protect the O-ring.

Step 4: Push to Connect
Push the PVC pipe firmly into the adapter's socket until it hits the internal stop. Pull back slightly to engage the stainless steel teeth.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure your connection matches:

  • Socket Side: Fits standard Schedule 40, Schedule 80, and Class 200 PVC Pipe.
  • Thread Side: Fits standard Female Pipe Threads (FPT).
  • Not Compatible: Do not thread onto Garden Hose Threads (GHT). Do not use with CPVC piping.
