Description

Combine Styles. Glue and Thread in One.

The Schedule 40 PVC Combination Tee is the ultimate problem-solver for integrating threaded components into a permanent hard-piped system. Designed with two Slip (Socket) ends for the main run and a Female Pipe Thread (FIPT) outlet on the branch, this fitting allows you to continue your PVC pipe run while providing a threaded port for accessories.

This configuration is most commonly used in irrigation systems to install Sprinkler Risers or threaded nipples directly into a main water line. By eliminating the need to glue in a separate tee and threaded bushing, this single unit saves space, installation time, and reduces the risk of leaks.

Why Choose Dura Schedule 40 PVC?
  • Hybrid Connection: Combines the permanence of solvent welding (glue) for the main line with the flexibility of threads for the outlet.
  • Simplified Installation: No need to cut pipe and install a separate female adapter; the threaded port is built right into the line.
  • Professional Quality: Injection-molded from virgin PVC resin, meeting ASTM D-2466 standards for pressure handling and durability.
  • Corrosion Resistant: Ideal for underground installation, resisting rot, rust, and chemical degradation from soil and fertilizers.
  • NSF Certified: Approved for use in potable (drinking) water applications.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

This installation requires both Glue (Run) and Tape (Branch).

Step 1: Prep the Run
Cut your main PVC pipe line where you want the tee located. Clean the pipe ends and apply PVC Primer to the pipe and the slip sockets of the tee.

Step 2: Glue the Run
Apply PVC Glue to the primed surfaces. Insert the pipe ends into the slip sockets, twisting a quarter turn to spread the cement. Hold for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Prep the Branch
Wrap the male threads of your riser, nipple, or sprinkler with thread seal tape. Wrap 3-4 times clockwise.

Step 4: Install Accessory
Screw the threaded component into the center FIPT outlet. Hand-tighten firmly. Use pliers for a final turn if necessary, but do not overtighten.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure you have the right mix:

  • Side Ports (Run): Fit standard PVC Pipe (Requires Glue).
  • Center Port (Branch): Fits Male Pipe Thread (MIPT) components.
  • It will NOT accept glued pipe in the center port.
  • It will NOT accept threaded pipe in the side ports.

Complete Your System

Get everything you need for a hybrid installation:

  • PVC Primer: Essential for preparing the slip connections.
  • PVC Glue: Required to bond the tee to your main water line.
  • Thread Seal Tape: Mandatory for sealing the threaded branch connection.
  • PVC Risers: Screw 1/2", 3/4", or 1"+ risers directly into the tee to elevate sprinkler heads.
  • Pipe Cutters: Ensure clean, square cuts with our 1", 1-1/2", 2", or Fiskars cutters.
