The 1/2" Schedule 80 PVC Nipples and Risers are the heavy-duty standard for extending threaded connections in your system. Unlike standard white Schedule 40 PVC, these gray Schedule 80 fittings are manufactured with thicker walls to withstand higher pressure ratings and physical stress. They are essential irrigation fittings for elevating spray heads or connecting valves to PVC Threaded Elbows underground.
Available in lengths ranging from "Close" (where threads meet) to 48 inches, these risers feature 1/2" Male Pipe Threads (MPT) on both ends. This makes them universally compatible with standard threaded irrigation components, allowing you to easily adjust the height of your sprinklers to clear growing foliage.
Engineered for high-pressure performance.

Secure your threaded connections without leaks.
Step 1: Clean Threads
Ensure both the male threads of the riser and the female threads of the fitting are free from dirt or debris.
Step 2: Apply Sealant
Wrap Thread Seal Tape clockwise around the male threads of the riser. 3 to 4 wraps is typically sufficient for plastic fittings.
Step 3: Hand Tighten
Screw the riser into the female fitting (e.g., a PVC Tee or Elbow) by hand until it is snug. Be careful not to cross-thread.
Step 4: Final Seal
If necessary, give the riser one additional 1/2 turn using a strap wrench. Warning: Do not overtighten Schedule 80 PVC, as this can crack the female fitting.
