Description

Effortless Watering. Deep Root Hydration.

The Gilmour 5/8" x 50' Vinyl Soaker Hose provides a gentle, consistent weep that delivers water directly to the root zone of your plants, promoting healthier growth while conserving water. Whether you are laying it out in a dense vegetable garden, snaking it through foundation shrubs, or placing it in raised beds, this porous tubing eliminates the evaporative waste and runoff associated with traditional overhead sprinklers. To fully automate your watering schedule and protect your plants from drought, pair this weeping hose with one of our reliable hose end timers.

Unlike complex micro-irrigation setups that require cutting poly tubing and inserting numerous irrigation fittings, this garden soaker is incredibly simple and ready to use right out of the box. Just unroll the flexible drip hose, position it around the base of your plants, connect it to your outdoor spigot, and you are ready to hydrate your landscaping efficiently.

Why Choose the Gilmour Soaker Hose?
  • Targeted Hydration: The porous wall design allows water to seep out slowly and evenly across the entire 50-foot length, keeping foliage dry to prevent fungal diseases.
  • Eco-Friendly Construction: Manufactured from 100% recycled vinyl materials, making it a sustainable choice for environmentally conscious gardeners.
  • Flexible & Manageable: The supple 5/8" diameter tubing easily snakes through tight plant spacing, flower beds, and custom garden layouts without kinking.
  • Ready to Connect: Comes pre-equipped with standard 3/4" Garden Hose Threads (GHT) and an end cap, allowing instant attachment to spigots, standard garden hoses, or manifold extensions.

Installation Tips & Best Practices

Get the most out of your soaker hose with these quick tips.

Step 1: Relax the Hose
Before installing, unroll the hose entirely and let it sit in the warm sun for an hour. This relaxes the vinyl memory, making it much easier to position around your plants.

Step 2: Placement
Lay the hose close to the base of your plants (within the drip line). For densely planted beds, snake the hose back and forth, spacing the lines about 12 to 18 inches apart.

Step 3: Mulch Over It
For maximum water conservation and longevity, cover the soaker hose with 1-2 inches of organic mulch. This shields the tubing from degrading UV rays and locks moisture into the soil.

Step 4: Regulate Flow
Soaker hoses operate best at low pressures. Do not turn your spigot on full blast. Turn the water on a quarter-turn until you see a slow, steady weep across the entire length. Alternatively, use a pressure regulator.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this hose fits your watering setup:

  • Thread Type: Uses standard 3/4" Garden Hose Threads (GHT). It will attach directly to standard residential outdoor faucets.
  • Extendable: You can unscrew the end cap to connect multiple hoses together end-to-end (up to 100-150 feet maximum recommended length for even pressure).
  • Pressure Warning: High household water pressure can rupture weeping hoses. Use a pressure regulator or keep the faucet partially closed.
