EZ-FLO Hose Bib Adapter

Set up your EZ-FLO hose-bib fertigation system in minutes.

Step 1: Install a Backflow Preventer
Thread a backflow preventer directly onto your outdoor faucet. This is required by most local codes and protects your domestic water supply from fertilizer contamination.

Step 2: Attach Your Timer
Thread your hose-end irrigation timer onto the backflow preventer outlet. EZ-FLO hose-thread units must be installed after a timer or valve — never under constant pressure.

Step 3: Connect the Hose Bib Adapter
Remove the washer from the 3/4" Female Swivel GHT inlet of the adapter and set it aside for re-use. Thread the adapter onto the timer outlet, then reinstall the washer and hand-tighten firmly. Position the injector so that the 1/4" tubing connections are accessible.

Step 4: Select and Install the Correct Flo-Disc
Refer to the instructions included with your EZ-FLO unit to estimate your water flow (GPH). Insert the appropriate Flo-Disc into the adapter to set the dilution ratio before turning on the water. Skip this step if your system exceeds the minimum flow rate for the injector without a disc.

Step 5: Connect the EZ-FLO Injector Tubing
Attach the 1/4" flexible supply and return tubing from your EZ-FLO injector tank cap to the corresponding ports on the adapter. Press tubing firmly into the push-fit fittings until it stops, then tug gently to confirm a secure connection.

Step 6: Fill the Tank and Start Watering
Fill the injector tank with your water-soluble fertilizer, set the flow adjustment on the cap, and turn on the water supply. The water flow will activate the injector and begin distributing diluted fertilizer through your drip system.

Is this adapter included with my EZ-FLO injector purchase?
Yes. One Hose Bib Adapter (Model 3060) is included as standard equipment with each EZ-FLO EZ 2005-HB (3/4-Gallon) and EZ 2020-HB (2.5-Gallon) hose-thread injector unit.

What is a Flo-Disc and do I need one?
Flo-Discs are small flow-restriction inserts that fit into the hose bib adapter to reduce water flow through it, which forces more water through the injector at low flow rates and controls the fertilizer dilution ratio.

Can I use this adapter if my system operates at very low flow rates?
For systems with very low water flow rates — such as a sprinkler zone — we recommend the EZ-FLO Coupler with Ball Valve (Model 3060-BV) instead of this standard adapter.

Do I need a backflow preventer with my EZ-FLO system?
Yes — a backflow preventer is required on all fertigation systems, without exception, to prevent fertilizer from flowing back into your domestic drinking water supply.

Can this adapter be used on a mainline (PVC pipe) system?
No. This adapter is specifically designed for 3/4" Garden Hose Thread (GHT) faucets and hose bibs only. It will not thread directly onto PVC pipe (NPT) threads.
