Step 1: Program the Timer (Optional)
Before installation, you can slide the LCD timer unit off the valve body. Because it runs on ambient light, you can easily program your current time, watering days, and run times comfortably in your hands, then slide it back on.

Step 2: Plumb the Valve
Thread the pre-installed 2" FPT valve into your irrigation mainline. Ensure the directional flow arrows on the side of the valve body point downstream toward your field.

Step 3: Ensure Light Exposure
The unit must be installed above ground or in a location where the photovoltaic panel on the top of the timer receives ambient daytime light. Do not bury it in a dark underground valve box with a solid lid.

Step 4: Adjust Flow Control
Once installed and pressurized, use the built-in flow control handle on the valve to finely tune the water flow and pressure passing into your downstream irrigation or drip lines.

Does the DIG LEIT Timer require direct sunlight to charge?
No, the DIG LEIT Timer is powered by ambient light. It does not require direct sunlight and can capture enough energy from surrounding daylight in any weather condition to operate flawlessly.

However, it must be installed above ground where ambient light is present; it cannot be completely concealed inside a dark underground valve box.

Do I need to do any wiring to set this up?
No! The DIG LEIT ILV-200 comes with the DC latching solenoid and 2" valve completely pre-installed and pre-wired from the factory.

Installation is purely mechanical—simply plumb the high-capacity valve into your water line, program the faceplate, and your system is automated.

Do I ever need to replace batteries in this timer?
No, the LEIT series is fully self-sustainable. It utilizes an internal photovoltaic system powered by ambient light, completely eliminating the need for alkaline or lithium backup batteries.
