Description

Heavy-Duty Reliability. Professional Water Control.

The Brass Spigot is a rugged, professional-grade solution for adding a reliable water source to your garden or greenhouse. Often referred to as a hose bibb or sillcock, this valve is designed to provide years of leak-free service under frequent use. To maximize the efficiency of your setup, we recommend pairing this valve with one of our hose timers for automated irrigation scheduling.

Whether you are replacing an old outdoor faucet or building a custom manifold, these irrigation fittings offer the durability that plastic alternatives simply cannot match. The multi-turn handle allows for precise flow regulation, making it ideal for everything from filling buckets to feeding a high-pressure drip system.

Why Choose Our Brass Spigot?
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Forged from high-quality brass for superior strength and resistance to corrosion, ensuring longevity in outdoor environments.
  • Standard Threading: Features standard 3/4" Male Hose Thread (MHT) on the outlet, making it compatible with all standard garden hoses and irrigation components.
  • Smooth Operation: The classic oval handle provides excellent leverage for opening and closing the valve, even with wet hands or gloves.
  • Versatile Installation: Available in multiple inlet sizes to fit your existing plumbing, whether you are connecting to a 1/2" or 3/4" supply line.
  • Weather Resistant: Built to withstand temperature fluctuations and UV exposure without becoming brittle or cracking.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps for a leak-free installation.

Step 1: Prep the Threads
Ensure the supply pipe threads are clean. Wrap the male threads of your supply pipe with 3 to 4 layers of thread seal tape in a clockwise direction.

Step 2: Thread the Valve
Thread the brass spigot onto the pipe by hand. Be careful not to cross-thread the fitting.

Step 3: Tighten the Connection
Using a pipe wrench or large adjustable wrench, tighten the valve until it is snug and the outlet is facing the desired downward position. Do not over-tighten, as this can crack the internal plumbing.

Step 4: Test for Leaks
Slowly turn on the main water supply and open the spigot to flush out any air. Close the valve and inspect the connection points for any moisture.

✔ Professional Tip

In freezing climates, always disconnect hoses and any attached irrigation fittings from the spigot before the first frost. This allows water to drain from the valve and prevents the pipe from bursting behind the wall.
