Description

Solid Reliability. Industrial Strength.

The Standard Brass Ball Valve is a rugged, cost-effective solution for controlling water flow in agricultural and landscape irrigation systems. Constructed from forged brass, this valve offers superior resistance to mechanical shock and temperature fluctuations compared to plastic alternatives. It is an essential component for isolating mainline sections, pumps, or irrigation filters for maintenance.

Featuring a classic quarter-turn lever handle, this valve provides immediate on/off control. While primarily designed for general irrigation fittings and non-potable water applications, its heavy-duty build ensures years of leak-free performance in harsh outdoor environments.

Why Choose Forged Brass?
  • High-Pressure Rating: Capable of handling significantly higher pressures (up to 600 PSI WOG) than standard PVC valves, making it ideal for high-pressure mainlines.
  • Full Port Design: The large internal bore ensures maximum water flow with minimal pressure loss, maintaining system efficiency.
  • Weather Resistant: Brass stands up to UV rays and extreme temperatures that can make plastic valves brittle over time.
  • Blow-Out Proof Stem: Engineered for safety, the stem is inserted from the inside to prevent ejection under high pressure.
  • Maintenance Free: The chrome-plated ball and PTFE seats resist corrosion and buildup, ensuring smooth operation without the need for lubrication.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Install securely using threaded connections.

Step 1: Prep Threads
Ensure the male threads (MPT) of your pipe or nipple are clean. Apply Thread Seal Tape (Teflon tape) 3-4 times clockwise.

Step 2: Connect
Thread the pipe into the valve's Female Pipe Thread (FPT) socket. Hand-tighten to ensure it is not cross-threaded.

Step 3: Tighten with Wrench
Use a wrench to tighten the connection further. Ensure the handle is positioned where you can easily operate it (clear of walls or other pipes).

Step 4: Verify Operation
Rotate the handle. Parallel to the pipe means OPEN; perpendicular means CLOSED.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your connection:

  • Thread Type: Female Pipe Thread (FPT) on both ends. You will need Male Pipe Thread (MPT) fittings to connect.
  • Not for Hose Threads: Does NOT fit standard garden hoses without an adapter.
  • Application: Ideal for irrigation mainlines, pump isolation, and agriculture.

Complete Your System

Get the right parts for a secure installation:

  • Thread Seal Tape: Required for sealing the metal-to-metal or metal-to-plastic threads.
  • Valve Box: Provides access and protection for your buried valves.
  • PVC Nipples: Heavy-duty threaded nipples for connecting the valve to your manifold.
  • Filters: Protect your emitters by installing a filter downstream of the valve.
