7 Smart Ways to Extend the Growing Season for Late Harvests

The 1/2" Easy Loc x .400" Barb is the essential "start connector" for custom irrigation layouts. It allows you to easily branch off a 1/2" drip line from a larger supply header (such as 3/4" or 1" mainline tubing) without cutting the main line apart.
This fitting inserts directly into a punched hole in your mainline, creating a secure takeoff point. On the other side, the Easy Loc collar grabs your 1/2" distribution tubing, allowing you to run water exactly where it's needed—whether to a new garden bed, a row of shrubs, or a container group.
Understanding compatibility is key. This fitting connects a large mainline to a smaller branch line.

Follow these steps to ensure a leak-proof connection.
Step 1: Punch the Mainline
Using the .400" Barb Punch, punch a hole into your 3/4" or larger mainline tubing. You should hear a "pop" when the hole is made.
Step 2: Insert the Barb
Push the barbed end of the fitting firmly into the punched hole. You may hear it snap into place. The shoulder of the fitting should sit flush against the mainline.
Step 3: Connect Branch Tubing
Rotate the Easy Loc locking collar backwards to expose the barb on the other side. Push your 1/2" branch tubing over the barb until it hits the stop.
Step 4: Lock it Down
Twist the locking collar forward over the tubing to clamp it securely.
Check your tubing sizes carefully:
