Description

Flush Your System. Simplify Maintenance.

The 1/2" Compression Male Hose End Cap is a dual-purpose fitting designed to terminate your drip irrigation line while providing easy access for maintenance. One side features a compression ring that locks securely onto 1/2" poly tubing, while the other offers a standard 3/4" Male Hose Thread (MHT) outlet.

Unlike a permanent Figure 8 closure, this adapter allows you to screw on a Hose Cap to seal the system. When it's time to winterize or flush out debris, simply unscrew the cap to open the line. It is a vital component among our irrigation fittings for gardeners who value long-term system health and easy flushing.

Why Use a Threaded End Cap?
  • Easy Flushing: Drip systems can accumulate sediment over time. This fitting lets you open the end of the line and flush it clean in seconds without cutting tubing.
  • System Expansion: The 3/4" MHT outlet essentially turns the end of your drip line into a faucet connection, allowing you to attach a garden hose or expand the zone later.
  • Secure Seal: The compression side utilizes a friction-fit metal ring for a permanent, leak-proof bond to the tubing.
  • Durable Construction: Made from high-impact ABS plastic, it is built to withstand pressure surges and outdoor exposure.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Secure your line end with the "Rock and Push" method.

Step 1: Prepare the Tubing
Cut the end of your 1/2" poly tubing squarely. Ensure there are no jagged edges.

Step 2: Warm the Ends (Recommended)
Compression fittings are tight. To ease installation, dip the tubing end in warm water or let it sit in the sun to soften the plastic.

Step 3: Push and Rock
Insert the tubing into the compression side of the fitting. Push firmly while "rocking" the tubing back and forth to force it past the internal ring. It should insert about 1/2" to 3/4".

Step 4: Cap It Off
Screw a 3/4" Hose Cap onto the male threads. Hand-tighten only. Remove this cap periodically to flush the system.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your components:

  • Tubing Side: Fits standard 1/2" Poly Tubing with a .700" Outer Diameter (OD).
  • Threaded Side: 3/4" Male Hose Thread. Compatible with standard garden hoses, hose caps, and hose-thread timers.
  • Does NOT Fit: Raindrip brand tubing (.620" OD) or Pipe Threads (PVC).
  • Note: Compression connections are permanent. Tubing cannot be removed without cutting.

Complete Your System

Ensure you have all the parts for a functional line end:

  • Hose Cap: REQUIRED. This fitting does not stop water flow without a cap.
  • 1/2" Poly Tubing: The mainline tubing compatible with this adapter.
  • Wire Hold Downs: Secure the end of the line to the ground to prevent whipping when flushing.
  • Punch Tool: Need to add emitters before closing the line? Don't forget your punch.
