Description

Extend Your Line. Secure Threaded Connections.

The Schedule 40 PVC Threaded Coupling is the standard solution for joining two male-threaded components in your water system. Featuring Female Pipe Threads (FIPT) on both ends, this fitting allows you to connect two pipe nipples, risers, or male adapters together, effectively extending the length of your manifold or repair line.

Ideal for building modular PVC irrigation systems, this coupler provides a strong, pressure-rated seal without the need for solvent cement (glue). Its threaded design allows for easy disassembly and system adjustments, making it a favorite for valve manifolds and pump stations.

Why Choose Dura Schedule 40 PVC?
  • Glue-Free Installation: Assembles quickly using only thread seal tape and a wrench, eliminating the mess and cure time of glued fittings.
  • Modularity: Allows you to easily swap out components or change line lengths by simply unscrewing the connection.
  • Professional Quality: Injection-molded from virgin PVC resin, meeting ASTM D-2466 standards for structural integrity and pressure handling.
  • Chemical Resistance: Impervious to rust, corrosion, and common agricultural chemicals found in soil and water.
  • NSF Certified: Approved for use in potable (drinking) water applications.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Secure your threaded connections properly to prevent leaks.

Step 1: Inspect Threads
Check the male threads on your pipes or nipples for damage or debris. Clean if necessary.

Step 2: Apply Tape
Wrap thread seal tape around the male threads. Use 3-4 layers, wrapping clockwise (with the threads) to ensure the tape stays in place during tightening.

Step 3: Hand Tighten
Screw the coupling onto the first pipe by hand until it is snug.

Step 4: Final Tighten
Use a strap wrench or pliers to turn the coupling an additional 1-2 turns. Repeat for the second pipe connection. Avoid overtightening, as this can split female PVC threads.

✔ Compatibility Check

Check your connection types:

  • Both Ends: Feature Female Pipe Threads (FIPT).
  • Fits: Male Pipe Thread (MIPT) components (Nipples, Risers, Male Adapters).
  • It will NOT fit directly onto PVC pipe (requires a male adapter).
  • It will NOT fit Garden Hose Threads (GHT).
