Description

Split Your Flow. Permanent Reliability.

The Schedule 40 PVC Tee (Slip x Slip x Slip) is the fundamental component for branching a water line into two opposite directions. Designed to connect three pipes of the same size, this tee creates a secure, 90-degree T-junction that facilitates water distribution throughout your garden or landscape. It is one of the most widely used irrigation fittings for building solid, permanent headers and manifolds.

Manufactured from high-quality Schedule 40 PVC, this fitting requires solvent welding (glue) on all three ends for a leak-proof seal. Its robust construction ensures it can handle the high pressures typical of main water lines and pump systems, making it the industry standard for residential and commercial irrigation.

Why Choose Dura PVC Tees?
  • Consistent Flow: The smooth interior walls reduce friction loss, ensuring that water pressure remains consistent across all branches of the tee.
  • Heavy Duty: Meets ASTM D-2466 standards for pressure handling and structural integrity.
  • Corrosion Resistant: PVC material is immune to rust, rot, and electrochemical corrosion, ensuring a lifespan of decades underground.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for irrigation mainlines, cold water plumbing, and pool/spa systems.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

A secure connection relies on proper solvent welding technique.

Step 1: Cut and Chamfer
Cut your PVC pipe squarely. Remove any burrs and slightly bevel the edge (chamfer) to prevent the pipe from scraping the glue off the inside of the fitting.

Step 2: Prime
Apply Purple Primer to the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the tee socket. This softens the plastic for fusion.

Step 3: Glue
While the primer is wet, apply PVC Glue to the pipe and the socket.

Step 4: Join
Immediately push the pipe into the fitting socket until it hits the stop. Twist a quarter turn to distribute the glue. Hold firmly for 30 seconds to prevent "push-out." Repeat for all three ends.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this fits your pipe:

  • Socket Connections: All three ends are "Slip" (unthreaded). They fit OVER standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe of the same nominal size.
  • Size Match: A 1" Tee fits 1" PVC Pipe. It does not fit over other fittings.
  • Not for Threads: To connect threaded risers, use a Threaded Tee or add a bushing.

Complete Your System

Finish your installation with these essential supplies:

  • PVC Primer: Critical for preparing the surfaces for a permanent bond.
  • PVC Glue: The solvent cement required to weld the pipe to the fitting.
  • Pipe Cutters: Ensure clean, square cuts for leak-proof joints.
  • PVC Caps: Useful for closing off a run if you aren't ready to extend the line yet.
