How to Save Time with a Drip Irrigation System
Jan 8th 2026
The Schedule 40 PVC Tee (Slip x Slip x Slip) is the fundamental component for branching a water line into two opposite directions. Designed to connect three pipes of the same size, this tee creates a secure, 90-degree T-junction that facilitates water distribution throughout your garden or landscape. It is one of the most widely used irrigation fittings for building solid, permanent headers and manifolds.
Manufactured from high-quality Schedule 40 PVC, this fitting requires solvent welding (glue) on all three ends for a leak-proof seal. Its robust construction ensures it can handle the high pressures typical of main water lines and pump systems, making it the industry standard for residential and commercial irrigation.

A secure connection relies on proper solvent welding technique.
Step 1: Cut and Chamfer
Cut your PVC pipe squarely. Remove any burrs and slightly bevel the edge (chamfer) to prevent the pipe from scraping the glue off the inside of the fitting.
Step 2: Prime
Apply Purple Primer to the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the tee socket. This softens the plastic for fusion.
Step 3: Glue
While the primer is wet, apply PVC Glue to the pipe and the socket.
Step 4: Join
Immediately push the pipe into the fitting socket until it hits the stop. Twist a quarter turn to distribute the glue. Hold firmly for 30 seconds to prevent "push-out." Repeat for all three ends.
Ensure this fits your pipe:
