The PVC Slip Cross is a heavy-duty Schedule 40 fitting engineered to create a central four-way intersection in your pressurized mainline. This cross features four non-threaded slip (socket) connections, allowing four separate PVC pipes to be joined at a 90-degree angle using solvent cement.
Ideal for building complex manifolds or splitting a water supply into multiple zones for valves and sub-laterals, this fitting guarantees a permanent, leak-proof weld. The robust construction is rated for the high pressures common in professional irrigation and water transfer applications, especially when combined with quality PVC Glue and PVC Primer.

A successful solvent-weld connection requires speed and cleanliness.
Step 1: Cut and Clean
Use a PVC pipe cutter to cut the pipe square. Deburr and chamfer the pipe ends, then wipe away any dust, grease, or moisture from the pipe and the interior of the cross ports.
Step 2: Prime Surfaces
Apply PVC Primer (required for pipe diameters 1" and up) to the pipe end and the interior of the fitting socket. Work quickly, as the primer softens the plastic rapidly.
Step 3: Apply Cement
Apply an even coat of PVC Glue to the primed surfaces. Apply a heavier coat to the pipe end than to the fitting socket.
Step 4: Join and Hold
Insert the pipe fully into the cross port (until it seats at the bottom stop). Rotate the pipe a quarter turn to distribute the cement evenly and hold the joint firmly for 30 seconds to prevent the pipe from pushing out. Wait for the recommended cure time before pressurizing the system.
