Description

Terminate Lines Permanently and Securely.

The PVC Slip Cap is the essential finishing component for any PVC piping system. Designed to fit over the end of a standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe, this cap creates a permanent, watertight seal to stop the flow of water. It is ideal for closing off the end of a main irrigation header, terminating a zone line, or sealing a stub-out for future expansion.

Molded from durable, UV-resistant Schedule 40 PVC, these caps are built to withstand high pressure and harsh underground conditions. As indispensable irrigation fittings for professional and residential setups alike, they require a solvent-weld connection using Primer and PVC Glue to ensure a leak-proof bond that lasts a lifetime.

Why Choose Dura Schedule 40 PVC?
  • High-Pressure Seal: The deep socket design ensures a maximum surface area for bonding, creating a seal that can handle the full pressure rating of the pipe itself.
  • Impact Resistant: Manufactured from high-quality virgin PVC resin, providing superior resistance to impact and crushing forces compared to thin-wall fittings.
  • Professional Appearance: The clean, white finish matches standard PVC piping for a neat and professional look in exposed manifold installations.
  • Flat End Design: The flat surface of the cap allows it to sit flush against walls or other surfaces, minimizing the footprint of your system.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

A secure cap requires a proper weld.

Step 1: Prep the Pipe
Cut the end of your PVC pipe squarely and remove any burrs. Clean the outside of the pipe and the inside of the cap to remove dirt and moisture.

Step 2: Prime Surfaces
Apply Purple Primer generously to the outside of the pipe end and the inside socket of the cap.

Step 3: Apply Glue
While the primer is wet, apply a layer of PVC Glue to both the pipe and the cap.

Step 4: Seal It
Push the cap fully onto the pipe with a quarter-turn twist. Hold it firmly in place for 30 seconds to ensure the bond sets without pushing off.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your connection:

  • Slip / Socket: Fits OVER the end of standard PVC Pipe.
  • It does NOT fit inside another fitting.
  • It is NOT threaded. Use a threaded cap for temporary closure.
  • Requires permanent solvent welding.

Complete Your System

Ensure you have everything for a leak-free job:

  • PVC Primer: Essential for preparing the PVC surface for a strong bond.
  • PVC Glue: The solvent cement that fuses the cap to the pipe.
  • PVC Pipe Cutters: Get a clean, square cut with our 1", 1-1/2", 2", or Fiskars cutters.
