Description

Economical Flow Control. Leak-Proof Weld.

The PVC Slip Ball Valve is a cost-effective and durable solution for managing water flow within your PVC mainline. Designed with a Slip x Slip (socket) configuration, this valve is permanently installed using solvent cement, creating a high-strength bond that is ideal for residential and agricultural irrigation systems.

These irrigation fittings are commonly used as zone isolation valves, allowing you to shut off water to specific areas of your garden or orchard for maintenance without disabling the entire system. Because it is molded from high-impact PVC, it resists corrosion and chemical degradation from fertilizers, ensuring years of reliable service in underground or surface-level applications.

Why Choose Our PVC Ball Valves?
  • Full Port Performance: The internal opening is designed to maximize flow and minimize pressure drop, ensuring your downstream emitters receive the correct pressure.
  • Ergonomic T-Handle: The large, high-visibility handle provides excellent leverage for easy turning, even when wearing garden gloves.
  • Maintenance-Free Design: Features an EPDM O-ring and Santoprene seats for a positive seal that does not require lubrication or adjustment.
  • Solvent Weld Connection: Slip sockets ensure a professional, permanent fit to standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe.
  • UV Resistant: Constructed from white PVC with UV stabilizers to withstand exposure to direct sunlight.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Proper solvent welding is essential for a permanent, leak-proof joint.

Step 1: Prep the Pipe
Cut your PVC pipe square and remove all burrs from the inside and outside edge. Clean the pipe end and the inside of the valve socket with a clean rag.

Step 2: Apply Primer
Apply PVC primer to the outside of the pipe and the inside of the valve socket. This softens the PVC to ensure a deep chemical weld.

Step 3: Apply Glue
Apply a thin, even layer of PVC glue to the primed areas. Work quickly, as the glue sets fast.

Step 4: Connect & Hold
Insert the pipe into the valve socket with a quarter-turn to distribute the glue evenly. Hold the pipe and valve together for 30 seconds to prevent the pipe from "pushing out" of the socket.

✔ Compatibility Check

  • Pipe Type: Designed to fit standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe.
  • Inlet/Outlet: Both sides are Slip (Socket) connections. They do NOT have threads.
  • Sizing: Choose the size that matches your PVC pipe diameter (e.g., a 1" valve for 1" PVC pipe).
  • Not for Mainline Pressure: We recommend installing these downstream of your main shut-off for zone control.

Complete Your System

Ensure a professional installation with these compatible components:

  • PVC Glue: The high-strength solvent cement required for installation.
  • PVC Primer: Critical for preparing the PVC surfaces for a permanent bond.
  • PVC Pipe Cutters: Ensure clean, square cuts for a better seal.
  • PVC Fittings: Find the tees and elbows needed to complete your manifold.
