Description

Repair Pipe at Any Angle. The Flexible Solution.

The PVC Flex Coupling is the landscaper's secret weapon for repairing broken lines in difficult locations. Featuring an 18-inch flexible body with standard Schedule 40 slip sockets on each end, this fitting allows you to bridge gaps, bend around tree roots, or connect misaligned pipes without the stress of rigid plumbing. To install, simply use standard PVC glue to solvent weld the ends onto your existing pipe.

These versatile irrigation fittings are indispensable for quick fixes in trenches where there is no "wiggle room" to insert a standard coupling. Whether you are navigating tight corners or fixing a break caused by root intrusion, the flexible PVC body absorbs movement and simplifies the repair process significantly.

Why Choose Dura Flex Couplings?
  • Extreme Versatility: The 18" flexible mid-section can bend up to 90 degrees (gradually) to route around obstacles like rocks or roots.
  • Permanent Bond: Unlike rubber boot couplings that rely on clamps, these feature true PVC slip ends that chemically weld to your pipe for a permanent, leak-proof seal.
  • Pressure Rated: Capable of handling operating pressures up to 150 PSI (non-static), making them suitable for lateral lines and zone piping.
  • Easy Retrofit: Eliminates the need for 45° or 90° elbows in weird angles, saving time and reducing the number of glue joints required.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Install like rigid pipe, but with added flexibility.

Step 1: Clean and Prime
Use Purple Primer to clean the outside of your rigid PVC pipe and the inside of the Flex Coupling sockets.

Step 2: Apply Glue
Apply a generous coat of PVC Glue to both the pipe and the coupling socket.

Step 3: Connect and Hold
Push the coupling onto the pipe, giving it a quarter turn to distribute the cement. Hold firmly for 30-60 seconds. Flexible PVC tends to push back out of the socket more than rigid pipe, so holding it is critical.

Step 4: Cure
Allow the joint to cure fully (at least 2 hours, preferably 24) before pressurizing the system.

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this is the right repair part:

  • Use On: Lateral lines (zone lines) after the valve.
  • Do NOT Use On: Constant pressure mainlines (before the valve) or inside buildings.
  • Connection: Requires Solvent Weld (Glue). It is NOT a compression fitting.
  • Material: Compatible with Standard Schedule 40/80 PVC Pipe.
