How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to ensure a secure connection.

Step 1: Prepare Threads
Wrap Thread Sealant Tape around the Male Pipe Threads (MPT) to ensure a watertight seal. Screw the fitting into your female threaded component (valve, filter, etc.) and hand-tighten.

Step 2: Prepare Tubing
Cut your poly tubing squarely. Pro Tip: Dip the end of the tubing in warm water or let it sit in the sun to soften it. This makes inserting the barb significantly easier.

Step 3: Insert Fitting
Push the poly tubing over the barbed end of the adapter. Use a rocking motion and ensure the tubing goes over all the barbs for maximum hold.

Step 4: Secure with Clamp
Slide a Stainless Steel Hose Clamp over the tubing where it overlaps the barbs. Tighten the clamp with a nut driver or screwdriver to prevent blowouts under pressure.

✔ Compatibility Check

Check your connection types:

  • Barb Side: Fits INSIDE standard Poly Tubing (Match ID sizes).
  • Thread Side: Male Pipe Threads (MPT) fit into Female Pipe Threads (FPT).
  • Pressure Warning: Unlike Easy Loc fittings, barbed fittings REQUIRE hose clamps for pressures over 20 PSI.
  • It will NOT connect to Hose Threads (GHT) without an adapter.
