Follow these steps for a watertight connection.
Step 1: Install the Threaded End
Apply thread seal tape to the 1/2" MPT threads. Screw the fitting into your PVC tee, riser, or regulator. Hand-tighten securely.
Step 2: Prepare the Tape Loc
Rotate the locking nut backwards (towards the threaded end) to expose the barb. Do not remove the nut completely.
Step 3: Insert the Tape
Slide your 5/8" drip tape over the exposed barb until it hits the stop. Ensure the tape is straight and not bunched.
Step 4: Lock it Down
Twist the locking nut forward over the tape. This compresses the tape against the barb, creating a positive seal.
