Description

Turn the Corner. Secure Threaded Connections.

The Schedule 40 PVC Threaded Elbow is the ideal solution for making sharp 90-degree turns in your irrigation manifold or water supply line without the use of solvent cement. Featuring Female Pipe Threads (FIPT) on both ends, this fitting connects two male-threaded components, such as nipples or risers, allowing for a fully modular and adjustable setup.

Molded from high-quality White Schedule 40 PVC, this elbow provides a durable, leak-resistant junction that withstands the elements and agricultural chemicals. It is commonly used in PVC irrigation systems to route water around obstacles or to raise sprinkler heads and valves to the proper height.

Why Choose Dura Schedule 40 PVC?
  • Glue-Free Assembly: Create precise turns in your hard-piped system using threaded connections only, eliminating the wait time associated with PVC glue.
  • Reusable & Adjustable: Unlike glued fittings, threaded elbows can be unscrewed and reused, making them perfect for temporary setups or systems that require frequent maintenance.
  • Professional Durability: Manufactured from virgin PVC resin to meet ASTM D-2466 standards, ensuring high impact strength and pressure ratings.
  • Corrosion Resistant: Impervious to rust, scale, and electrolytic corrosion, ensuring a long lifespan even in harsh soil conditions.
  • NSF Certified: Approved for use in potable (drinking) water applications as well as irrigation.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Install your elbow correctly to prevent leaks and thread damage.

Step 1: Prep the Threads
Identify the male threads on the pipes or nipples you are connecting. Ensure they are clean and free of dirt.

Step 2: Apply Tape
Apply thread seal tape to the male threads. Wrap 3 to 4 times in the direction of the threads (clockwise) to create a proper seal.

Step 3: Connect First Leg
Screw the elbow onto the first pipe nipple by hand until snug. Ensure the elbow is facing the desired direction.

Step 4: Tighten
Use a strap wrench or pliers to tighten the fitting an additional 1-2 turns. Do not overtighten or force the fitting past its stopping point, as this may split the PVC.

✔ Compatibility Check

Check your connection types:

  • Both Ends: Feature Female Pipe Threads (FIPT).
  • Fits: Male Pipe Thread (MIPT) components like nipples, risers, and adapters.
  • It will NOT connect directly to smooth PVC pipe (requires a male adapter or glued nipple).
  • It will NOT fit Garden Hose Threads (GHT).

Complete Your System

Ensure a professional installation with these related products:

  • Thread Seal Tape: Essential for sealing threads and preventing leaks.
  • PVC Nipples: The required connector for joining these threaded elbows to other fittings.
  • PVC Risers: Use with the elbow to raise sprinklers or spray jets above foliage.
