Accidents Happen. Fix Them Fast with the Basic Tubing Repair Kit.

Whether a rogue lawnmower clipped your mainline, an enthusiastic puppy found a new chew toy, or a shovel sliced through a hidden tube, garden accidents are inevitable. The Basic Tubing Repair Kit provides the absolute essential components to get your drip irrigation system back up and running in under 60 seconds.

Available in both 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch variations to match your system, this focused, emergency repair kit includes six of our premium "Easy Loc" Couplers and five 1-foot sections of blank Poly Tubing. This specific combination allows you to seamlessly splice together a clean break or completely bridge a gap where a larger section of tubing was destroyed.

Designed for absolute simplicity, this kit requires no special tools, glue, or heat. Simply cut out the damaged section, push the fresh tubing into the Easy Loc Couplers, and twist to lock. It's the perfect, low-cost insurance policy to keep on hand in your garden shed so you never have to delay watering your plants during the hot summer months.

How to Fix a Break: A Step-by-Step Guide

This kit provides simple solutions for the most common mainline damage scenarios.

Scenario 1: Splicing a Clean Cut
If your tubing was cleanly sliced, use a tubing cutter to ensure both sides of the break are straight and clean. Take one Easy Loc Coupler, push the two clean ends of your existing Mainline Tubing into either side of the fitting, and twist the locking nuts tight to restore water flow securely.

Scenario 2: Bridging a Large Gap
If a section of tubing is crushed, mangled, or missing, cut out the entire damaged area. Take one of the included 1-foot pieces of Poly Tubing. Attach an Easy Loc Coupler to both ends of this new 1-foot piece. Finally, connect this new "bridge" assembly to the two open ends of your existing mainline.

Scenario 3: Expanding a Line
While primarily for repairs, you can also use the included tubing and couplers to quickly extend a mainline by a few feet if you need just a bit more reach at the end of a garden bed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which size kit do I need?
You must select the kit that matches your existing mainline tubing. Check the Outside Diameter (OD) of your tubing. Standard 1/2" tubing is typically .700" OD, while 3/4" tubing is roughly .940" OD.

Can I use this on 1/4" micro tubing?
No. This kit contains large Easy Loc fittings and large mainline tubing. To repair small 1/4" micro tubing or dripline, you should use 1/4" Transfer Barbs (Couplers).

Do I need any special tools to use the couplers?
No special tools, heat, or glue are required. However, we highly recommend using a proper tubing cutter (like the Punch N Cut) rather than scissors to ensure your cut is perfectly straight, which prevents leaks.

What if I just have a small puncture hole?
If you only have a tiny hole (like an accidental punch mark), you do not need to cut the line and use a coupler. You can simply plug small holes using a 1/4" Goof Plug.

"Saved my tomatoes"

"I accidentally ran over my 1/2 inch line with the rototiller right before a heatwave. Having this kit in my shed meant I just cut out the mangled foot of tubing, spliced in the new piece with two couplers, and had the water back on in two minutes."

"Essential shed stock"

"I order one of these every spring just to have on hand. The short 1-foot sections are brilliant because you usually don't need a whole 100ft roll just to fix a shovel accident. Easy loc fittings never leak on me."

"Perfect gap bridger"

"My dog chewed right through a section of my 3/4 inch line. I used one of the 1-foot pieces from this kit and two couplers to bridge the gap perfectly. Way cheaper than calling a landscaper."

✔ Compatibility Check

Before you buy, confirm your tubing size:

  • Select the right variant: Make sure you select either the 1/2" kit OR the 3/4" kit based on your existing setup.
  • 1/2" Tubing: Typically measures ~0.700" Outside Diameter.
  • 3/4" Tubing: Typically measures ~0.940" Outside Diameter.

Complete Your Repair Arsenal

Ensure you have these handy tools ready for any irrigation emergency:

  • 1/4" Goof Plugs: The absolute easiest way to plug small, accidental puncture holes in your mainline without cutting the pipe.
  • Punch N Cut Tool: A heavy-duty tool that easily slices cleanly through tubing. A straight cut is essential to prevent leaks when using Easy Loc fittings.
  • 1/4" Transfer Barbs: Keep a pack of these on hand for splicing and repairing your smaller 1/4" micro tubing lines.
