The PVC Slip Cap is the essential finishing component for any PVC piping system. Designed to fit over the end of a standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe, this cap creates a permanent, watertight seal to stop the flow of water. It is ideal for closing off the end of a main irrigation header, terminating a zone line, or sealing a stub-out for future expansion.
Molded from durable, UV-resistant Schedule 40 PVC, these caps are built to withstand high pressure and harsh underground conditions. As a slip fitting, it requires a solvent-weld connection using Primer and PVC Glue to ensure a leak-proof bond that lasts a lifetime.
Ensure you select the correct size cap for your pipe.

A secure cap requires a proper weld.
Step 1: Prep the Pipe
Cut the end of your PVC pipe squarely and remove any burrs. Clean the outside of the pipe and the inside of the cap to remove dirt and moisture.
Step 2: Prime Surfaces
Apply Purple Primer generously to the outside of the pipe end and the inside socket of the cap.
Step 3: Apply Glue
While the primer is wet, apply a layer of PVC Glue to both the pipe and the cap.
Step 4: Seal It
Push the cap fully onto the pipe with a quarter-turn twist. Hold it firmly in place for 30 seconds to ensure the bond sets without pushing off.
Verify your connection:
