Installation differs slightly by material.
Step 1: Tape the Pipe Threads
Apply thread seal tape to the 3/4" Male Pipe threads of the component you are adapting (e.g., your PVC nipple or filter).
Step 2: Screw on the Adapter
Twist the 3/4" FPT side of the adapter onto the taped pipe threads. Hand-tighten firmly. (Use a wrench gently if installing the Brass version).
Step 3: Connect Hose Accessory
The outlet is now a standard Male Hose Thread. You can attach a garden hose, a timer, or a cap. Ensure the female device you attach has a hose washer installed to prevent leaks.
