Description

Automatic End-of-Line Drainage for High-Flow Systems

The Jain 2" Flush Valve (MPT) is DripWorks' largest flush valve, built to drain water automatically from the end of a mainline once the system shuts off. Threaded onto a 2" Female Pipe Thread fitting or riser, it stays closed under normal operating pressure and opens on its own once pressure drops below 7 PSI, releasing trapped water and sediment before it can settle, freeze, or clog downstream components. This makes it a simple, set-it-and-forget-it tool for both routine flushing and seasonal winterization.

Because this valve requires roughly 30 GPM of flow to close and seal, it's built for higher-volume mainlines, ag systems, and 2" PVC runs rather than small home drip zones. Operating range is 7 to 60 PSI. Pair it with the correct PVC fitting and, if it will sit above ground, a protective valve box.

Why Choose the Jain 2" Flush Valve?
  • Automatic Operation: Opens on its own when line pressure drops below 7 PSI, so there's nothing to remember to do manually.
  • Reduces Sediment Buildup: Automatic flushing at shutdown helps clear particles before they can settle in the line.
  • Built for High Flow: Rated for mainlines and systems moving up to 30 GPM, making it a solid fit for larger residential or light agricultural setups.
  • Simple Threaded Install: 2" Male Pipe Thread connects directly into a 2" female-threaded fitting or riser at the end of the line.
  • Useful for Winterization: Draining water automatically at shutdown helps protect end-of-line fittings from freeze damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this flush valve actually work?
It stays closed while the system is running at normal pressure, and opens automatically once line pressure drops below 7 PSI, letting trapped water and sediment drain out.

It requires roughly 30 GPM of flow to force it shut again once the system is turned back on and pressurized.

Is this valve a good fit for a small home drip system?
Not usually. Because it needs about 30 GPM of flow to close, it's better suited to mainlines, larger residential systems, or light agricultural setups than to typical low-flow drip zones.

For smaller drip tape or emitter lines, a compact hose-thread or 3/4" flush valve is usually a better match.

What size fitting does it thread into?
This valve has 2" Male Pipe Thread and threads directly into a 2" Female Pipe Thread fitting or riser at the end of the mainline.

Use a compatible 2" PVC fitting to transition into the valve if your mainline uses a different connection type.

Can I use this valve to winterize my system?
Yes. Because it opens automatically once pressure drops after shutdown, it helps drain residual water from the end of the line, which reduces the risk of freeze damage.

It's often used as an end-plug fitting specifically for this reason during fall system shutdown.

✔ Compatibility Check

Please note the requirements for this component:

  • Thread Type: 2" Male Pipe Thread (MPT). Threads into a 2" Female Pipe Thread fitting — not a hose thread connection.
  • Flow Requirement: Needs approximately 30 GPM to close and seal. Not recommended for low-flow drip-only zones.
  • Operating Range: Rated for 7–60 PSI; opens automatically below 7 PSI.
