Planting Flower Bulbs
Most spring-flowering bulbs — tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses — require planting at 2x–3x their own diameter in depth. Use the 1"–6" depth markings to set bulbs at exactly the right level without digging unnecessarily deep or too shallow. Planting Garlic & Onion Sets
Garlic cloves typically want to be planted 2" deep with the pointed tip up; onion sets go in at around 1"–2".
