Description

Direct Riser Integration. Secure Poly Connections.

The Barbed Female Combo Tee (Insert x Insert x FPT) is a specialized fitting designed to install a threaded sprinkler riser directly into a run of poly tubing. Featuring two barbed ends for a secure "insert" connection to your supply line and a Female Pipe Thread (FPT) outlet in the center, this tee eliminates the need for complex glued manifolds. To ensure a leak-proof system, all barbed connections must be secured with Hose Clamps.

These durable irrigation fittings are molded from high-impact Schedule 40 PVC, making them resistant to agricultural chemicals and UV degradation. They are the professional standard for adding overhead sprayers, shrubs, or pop-ups to a flexible poly pipe system.

Why Choose a Barbed Insert Tee?
  • Fast Installation: Simply cut your poly tubing, insert the barbed ends, and clamp. No glue or cure time required.
  • Versatile Outlet: The threaded center port accepts any standard Male Pipe Thread (MPT) accessory, such as risers, nipples, or funny pipe elbows.
  • Secure Grip: Sharp, multi-ribbed barbs "bite" into the inner wall of the tubing, providing excellent pull-out resistance when clamped.
  • Durable Material: Manufactured from rigid gray PVC, offering the strength of traditional pipe fittings with the flexibility of a poly system.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hose clamps are required for a secure fit.

Step 1: Prep the Riser
Wrap the threads of your riser or sprinkler with Thread Seal Tape. Screw it into the center threaded port of the tee. Hand tighten firmly.

Step 2: Cut the Line
Cut your poly tubing at the desired location for the sprinkler. Ensure the cut is clean and square.

Step 3: Insert Barbs
Slide a hose clamp over each end of the tubing. Insert the barbed ends of the tee into the tubing. Tip: If the pipe is cold, dipping the ends in warm water can make insertion easier.

Step 4: Clamp
Slide the clamps over the area where the tubing overlaps the barbs. Tighten the clamps securely with a nut driver or screwdriver.

✔ Compatibility Check

Verify your connection types:

  • Side Ports: Fit standard Polyethylene (Poly) Tubing. (Check ID sizes).
  • Center Port: Fits Male Pipe Thread (MPT) components like Risers or Nipples.
  • It will NOT fit Drip Tape.
  • It requires Hose Clamps to hold pressure.
