Description

Seamless Transition. PVC to Poly.

The 1/2" Compression x Spigot Adapter is the professional choice for converting hard-piped sprinkler lines into flexible drip zones. This compression adapter glues into any 1/2" PVC slip fitting and allows 1/2" poly tubing to be inserted into the other end. It provides a permanent, low-profile connection that is ideal for extending drip lines from existing PVC manifolds, tees, or elbows.

Unlike threaded adapters that require tape and tightening, this fitting is solvent-welded directly into a PVC socket for a bond that is as strong as the pipe itself. On the downstream side, the reliable compression ring grips your 1/2" polyethylene tubing securely, creating a leak-proof seal without the need for clamps.

Why Choose a Spigot Adapter?
  • Solvent Weld Security: "Glues" directly into standard PVC fittings (like tees or couplings) using PVC cement, eliminating the risk of threaded leaks.
  • Low Profile: The spigot end slides completely inside the mating fitting, saving space in tight valve boxes or manifolds.
  • Secure Grip: The compression side features an internal ring that bites into the poly tubing, preventing blow-outs even under pressure surges.
  • Professional Finish: Creates a clean, integrated look where rigid pipe meets flexible tubing.

How to Install: A Step-by-Step Guide

Requires PVC Primer and Glue (Solvent Cement).

Step 1: Prep the Surfaces
Clean the outside of the adapter's spigot end and the inside of the 1/2" PVC fitting hub. Apply Purple Primer to both surfaces.

Step 2: Glue the Spigot
Apply PVC Glue to the spigot and the fitting hub. Insert the adapter fully, twist a quarter turn to distribute the glue, and hold for 30 seconds to bond.

Step 3: Insert Tubing
Once the glue is set, cut your 1/2" poly tubing squarely. Push it into the compression end of the adapter. Rock the tubing back and forth while pushing firmly until it passes the internal resistance ring (approx. 1/2" to 3/4" deep).

✔ Compatibility Check

Ensure this adapter fits your setup:

  • Spigot End: Fits INSIDE any standard 1/2" PVC Slip/Socket fitting (Tee, Elbow, Coupler).
  • Compression End: Fits standard 1/2" Poly Tubing (.690" - .710" OD).
  • Does NOT Fit: Directly onto PVC pipe (needs a fitting hub), 3/4" fittings, or Drip Tape.
