The 1" x 3/4" Manifold Reducing Nipple is the critical component for stepping down your Manifold System to accommodate smaller valves or filters. This Schedule 40 PVC fitting features 1" Male Pipe Threads (MPT) on one end and 3/4" Male Pipe Threads (MPT) on the other, allowing for a direct, compact connection between different pipe sizes.
Commonly used in residential irrigation headers, this nipple allows you to build a high-capacity 1" manifold while using cost-effective 3/4" solenoid valves for your individual zones. Manufactured by Dura Plastics, it ensures a durable, leak-free transition that withstands the demands of constant pressure.

Proper sealing depends on the type of fitting you are connecting to.
Step 1: Connecting to Manifold (1" End)
If screwing the 1" end into a Dura Swivel Fitting (with grey nut and O-ring), do NOT use thread tape. Simply hand-tighten the swivel nut onto the nipple. The O-ring creates the seal.
Step 2: Connecting to Valve (3/4" End)
Apply 3-5 wraps of thread seal tape to the 3/4" MPT threads. Screw the nipple into your 3/4" valve or filter. Tighten by hand, then add one half-turn with a wrench if needed.
Step 3: Test the System
Pressurize the manifold and check for leaks. If the O-ring side leaks, tighten the swivel nut slightly. If the taped side leaks, tighten the nipple further into the valve.
Check your thread sizes:
