Description

High-Flow Reliability. Effortless Compression Connection.

The Hose x 1/4" Compression Adapter is the professional standard for starting a micro-drip system directly from a garden faucet or hose thread source. Unlike barbed fittings that can be difficult to insert, this compression adapter allows you to simply twist your 1/4" poly tubing into the fitting for a secure, high-flow connection (up to 30 GPH). To protect your micro-emitters from damage caused by high city water pressure, we strongly recommend installing a pressure regulator immediately upstream of this fitting.

Whether you are watering deck containers or vertical garden walls, this is one of the most reliable irrigation fittings for transitioning from a heavy-duty supply line to precision 1/4" distribution lines. The compression design ensures a watertight seal that handles temperature fluctuations better than standard friction-fit barbs.

Why Choose the Compression Adapter?
  • High Flow Capacity: Delivers up to 30 GPH, making it ideal for large groupings of containers or misting arrays that require more volume than a single barb can provide.
  • Easy Installation: The compression ring design accepts 1/4" poly tubing with a simple "twist-and-push" motion—no specialized insertion tools required.
  • Universal Hose Threads: Threads directly onto any 3/4" Male Hose Thread (MHT) source, including faucets, hose-end timers, and manifold outlets.
  • Watertight Seal: Includes a high-quality internal hose washer to prevent leaks at the spigot, even under constant pressure.
  • UV-Stabilized Construction: Built from rugged, sun-resistant plastics to ensure long-term durability in outdoor environments.

How to Install: Twist-to-Lock Guide

Follow these steps for a leak-proof connection.

Step 1: Prep the Tubing
Cut your 1/4" poly tubing squarely. For the easiest insertion, cut the tip of the tubing at a slight 45-degree angle.

Step 2: Insert and Twist
Push the 1/4" tubing into the compression end while twisting the tubing. You will feel it "bite" into the internal ring. Keep pushing until the tubing hits the internal stop.

Step 3: Connect to Faucet
Ensure the internal rubber washer is flat, then thread the FHT end onto your spigot, timer, or manifold. Hand-tighten only.

Step 4: Verify the Seal
Turn on the water and check for leaks. If the tubing pulls out, it wasn't pushed in far enough; re-insert with a firm twisting motion.

✔ Pro Compatibility Tip

Vinyl vs. Poly Tubing:

  • This compression fitting is designed specifically for 1/4" Polyethylene Tubing.
  • Vinyl Tubing: While it may fit, vinyl is much softer and more prone to slipping out of compression fittings under pressure. For vinyl tubing, we recommend using a barbed hose adapter instead.
  • Maximum Pressure: Do not exceed 30 PSI for optimal performance and seal longevity.
