With Mother's Day just around the corner, we thought it would be appropriate to celebrate beauty in all its forms by showing you a few pictures of our garden in its present state. In the DripWorks Demonstration Garden we try to inspire our visitors by showing how easy it is to set up a garden and use drip irrigation. Located just outside the door of our retail store, this tranquil setting has benches and tables for you to relax and enjoy our pond and waterfall. A beautifully landscaped area sits nearby where trees and shrubs enjoy the morning sun, afternoon shade, and a cooling drink from our gravity fed drip system. In all, a pleasant place to wait while your order is being packed.
We use corner joints to create our raised perennial flower beds, making them so much easier to tend than planting directly in the ground. The watering in these beds is done with Soaker Dripline, Aqua-Traxx drip tape, and our SuperNet pressure compensating sprinklers.
If you don't need large raised beds, Smart Pot fabric containers are a quick and easy way to go. This porous fabric aerates the root zone allowing for optimal growth. It's as easy as buying bags of soil and filling the Smart Pots to within a few inches of the top, adding a few coils of Soaker Dripline, and placing a plant in the center. If you look around our demo garden, you'll find these containers displayed in various sizes with everything from petunias and snowy amethyst to tomatoes, peppers, squash, and basil.
In addition, we grow a few green leafy veggies. My favorites are the chard and kale. Not only are they tasty and nutritious, but once the plants are established they keep growing all season long, even after months of regularly harvesting the individual leaves. It's almost like free food. So, if you're in the area, please stop by to visit our little oasis of color and enjoy.
And, of course, Happy Mother's Day!
