T-Tape® Design For Farms
and Other Agricultural Uses
| Overview | Farm Use | Buy T-Tape |
T-Tape® is a drip tape that can be an efficient, economical solution to your farm irrigation and other agricultural irrigation needs. When designing a T-Tape® system for a farm, the design process can be broken down into several steps that are listed below, along with a calculator to help you get a rough estimate of your T-Tape® needs.
(Just enter the information in the white boxes for the calculator. The other fields will be filled in when you press the Calculate button. The Clear button clears all of the calculated fields.)

Dividing a System into Zones

This is one way to divide a system using valves. The valves can be either manual or automatic. Generally, it's best to keep valves close together for convenience. The main line would typically be 3/4" or larger, depending on the size or your area
and the water available. The sub-mains are often done with 3/4" poly tubing.
Flatube™ can be used for large farm applications that have larger volumes of water available. Each T-Tape row is started with either an LSB Tape Loc x 1/4" barb, or an LSB400 Tape Loc x .400 barb if a flow of more that 80 GPH is needed for longer rows. The LSB400 has a flow of about 300 GPH at 12 PSI. If you want a valve on a row you can use either an LSBSO Tape Loc x Barb with Valve or an LSBSO400 Tape Loc x .400 Barb with Valve for higher flow. At the end of each row, put an LSGS Grip Sleeve to close off the T-Tape. You can check out our complete line of Tape Loc fittings by clicking here. If you plan to do seed germination in your rows, you may want to consider incorporating removable misting lines in your design to water your plants until their root system is established.
